Bolts will stay ECNL. NEFC will drop ECNL but retain ECRL. Stars will stay full ECNL. Same goes for CFC and FSA. I would expect the ECNL to potentially approach juventus or Surf to enter the ECNL but that would rely on them providing both boys and girls programs. So that part will be interesting

Why on earth would nefc keep ecrl? That makes no sense at all.... just put your 3rd team in EDP and save everyone from the NY trips.

Or is nefc just keeping a foot in the door in hopes that their girls program would get into ecnl someday.

For those of us in the 128/South Shore areas, this would be a great option, but are Stars are going to want Juventus or Surf to enter the ECNL? Doesn't seem like it would be in their best interest to allow an ECNL badge in Newton. They'd lose a lot of players who would rather stop in Newton than drive all the way to Lancaster. And if Bolts stay, would ENCL want their second Massachusetts boys badge to be in Newton also? For the girls side, it would make sense geographically, but I bet Stars wouldn't want a girls badge in Newton either.

              This is totally false

ECNL will not let you only have a regional program in this region

Yes exactly. NEFC is leaving ECNL fully. No more ECNL or ECRL

Not new. That is U11 next year - they have offered Pre-MLS at U11 and U12 for a number of years.

Generally for U11, it is a mix of kids from their regional teams with rosters different each week (though the top kids will play every week and others will get rotated in and out to see how they do).

You left out pre anything is marketing, especially for 10 and 11 year olds! There is no pre league nor any guarantee those kids will be on the MLSN team later on. Be on a good team with good teammates and coach. If NEFC is the best option for your kid, ok. If it isn't then look into MLSN in a few years.

Those teams have been playing in Northeast Academy League - so it is a different league than their other teams play, but certainly not a guarantee. I'll say that my kid did that wacky thing at U11, played pre-MLS at U12, and MLS Next at U13, so it can go that way. But there are def kids who played in that group at U11 but then not at U12, and played in that group at U11 and U12, but didn't make MLS Next at U13. So no guarantee, but the coaches are definitely looking at those kids for possible roster spots for MLSN.
