My God, you must live in a bubble! The words she used are a regular part of our American lexicon today and this is something that should have been taken into consideration when handing out the punishment of a 19 year old. Unless there was an ongoing problem, SM deserved a warning not a suspension. It's all water under the bridge at this point, but your holier than though attitude is absolutely astounding considerng the culture we live in.

If you want to talk about the American lexicon today, think about her future employment chances as many companies are looking at Facebook, Twitter, etc to gauge if they want prospective employees in their company.

Were you following her twitter? That tweet you describe was not one of the ones captured so either you and/or your kid were following and she tweeted that, or you made it up. And it has nothing to do with her family; she is 19/20 and made a mistake - a huge one as it ends up - but it was not like her family approved it.

As for employers - after business school enough time will have passed that many will overlook it as a stupid sophomoric mistake for which she was punished. You don't need to hire her because you feel it is evidence of some sort of immorality or resident evil, but I expect someone will. Think how many 20 year olds have DUIs or possession charges (which could actually have resulted in death or injury to others) - do you think they never get past them? Of course they do.

Different poster here -- the tweet described was definitely one of the ones she tweeted. It was in the early reports. I realize it's T-S, but before accusing someone of making something up, why not do even a modicum of research. Definitely something SM tweeted.

What post did you read calling for her head?

There have been post calling her class into question and her up bringing. There have been post speculating that she will get cut. But I have not seen any posts calling for further punishment.
