What she did has absolutely nothing to do with how PSU is handling their business. You can debate whether they should have played football this year or any athletics, but what in the heck does that have to do with SM's tweets??? And if you had a kid playing a sport at PSU, who was completely and utterly innocent with regard to the debacle, then you might have a different feeling about whether her team should be allowed to play. And let's be honest. Do you truly believe the tweets are a product of intellect and her own moral outrage? Again, there would be better forums to demonstrate that if it is in fact the case which we all know is preposterous.

She is getting a wrist slap. Same penalty as for a red card and even less than for drinking a beer or smoking a joint. The penalty is nothing, except she has hurt her team -- hurt them not just by her absence but also by the enormous distraction. BC basically is already down 2-0 before the game even starts. You all are acting like she got some severe, outrageous penalty. The penalty is nothing and probably not nearly enough.

Athletes especially should know better.

I don't like them, but I'm hardly amazed. Since when does an elite athlete demonstrating poor judgment, arrogance, self-importance and a sense of entitlement strike anyone as something new or out of the ordinary?

This is undoubtedly a very unfortunate situation. I don't know the player in question but can only imagine that she is mortified at her tweeting. I am curious as to how it went public. Not that this is the point but it makes me wonder. At the end of the day her decision was short-sighted, her parents must be embarrassed, she is being punished, she will forever be known as the BC tweet player.

Take the time to remind your kids that their online activity should be above board, protected, and never completely private. If someone wants to share your tweets or facebook posts or TS rants, they will.

May the wounds and wounded at PSU heal.

If that's the case, why is PS allowed to field teams for after one of the most vile and despicable acts and coverups in NCAA history was revealed?

AMEN. I don't think anyone supports what this player has done. But there is something distasteful about watching PSU get a leg up because somebody tweeted vulgar comments about one of the worst debacles in NCAA history. PSU should not be fielding any team period. They got a slap in the face, they needed a punch in the gut.

Is it nice to come on a public forum and write negative things about a teenager? I don't know her or HB but I was taught that if you can't say something nice about someone then don't say anything at all. Maybe she used bad judgement but is it any better for anonymous posters to come on a forum and talk about someone else like this? It's a shame.

Penn State was going to hammer them whether this happened or not. BC has the best player, but Penn State has a much better overall team and a MUCH better coach.
