Bulldogs and Stars play on Thursday.
    So next round looks like:
Valeo vs Abbey Villa - have to favor Abbey Villa, but if Valeo develops a plan to stop AV's primary scorer (have a defensive mid and 2 backs know where he is at all times and surround him) and executes it, an upset is possible.
Bulldogs (assuming they beat Stars) vs Milan Boston - would be quite a coincidence with the clubs just announcing a partnership. Bulldogs should cruise. Biggest mystery of this age group is how Milan got the 6 seed and a bye to this point.
    FC Mass. already upset Aztec
MPS Crusaders vs WUP red - WUP red prohibitively favored here, as they've been a regular quarterfinalist.

How exactly did Milan get a 6 seed anyways? Does anyone know?

Bet it was pulling names from a hat. MYSA certainly has left themselves room for improvement in the "seeding" process. If you're going to call it seeding, then make some effort to actually rank sides by performance. Use state cup finish, league standing, gotsoccer ranking, or maybe a combination to have an objective "first draft," then tweak it if there are good reasons. If not going to even try, don't call it seeding.

You really need to know the team and see them play to judge. Otherwise you don't know if some players were out, whether the winner actually played better or was fortunate that day, etc.

            inconsistency

I was saying that because all those teams have had significant victories and individual players that have had success, yet they drop games to teams who haven't had success and trade games with each other with scores that don't reflect their ability

I wouldnt be surprised if Crusaders blame the field and the only one ref (Blazers first goal was offsides). With that being said, Blazers were the better team.
It could be worth looking at 2013 schedules for some of these teams.
WUP Red (accepting the issues with gotsoccer, ranked 25 in region I):
              Losses to #19, 40 and 51
              Draws with #7, 51, 91 and 233
              Wins over #23, 33, 35, 36, 37, 49, 53, 74, 78, 80, and 162
In 18 matches, there seem to be 3 "bad" results: loss to 51 and ties with #91 and especially 233. Some might say only the tie with 233 looks bad.

Crusaders United (#14 in region I):
              Loss to #7 and 23
              Draw with #48
              Wins over #24, 29, 74 equivalent from r2, 81, 92 equivalent from r3, 103, 252 and 326
In 11 matches and an overall less-demanding schedule then wup red, there's maybe 1 bad result, the draw with 48.

Depends on your view, but the number of "bad" results in these 2 examples is consistent with occasionally missing scoring chances, a key call going against you, an atypical mistake costing a goal, that sort of thing. It doesn't feel like inconsistency.

What was result of Bulldogs v AC Milan Boston last night? Bulldogs should have won, but no result posted yet.

And WUP Red presumably rolled MPS Crusaders today. Can anyone confirm?

What do you make of Abbey Villa recently? They rise up and beat Blazers, then fall yesterday to Real Boston. Maybe AV was resting players for State Cup elimination match tomorrow, or did Real Boston surround their center forward and take AV out of their game?

Watched the Blazers vs AV game and also the second half of the AV vs Real Boston game, I think theyre just inconsistent, they were lethargic and Real Boston after scoring really just pulled back and defended well. Against Blazers though they were let off the hook, Blazers dominated possession, hit the post 3 times, had 2/3 other 1v1 with keepers, AV never really threatened, but then AV scored two goals off of miscommunications/hesitations between the goalie and the centerbacks. Theyre a good team when things are going right, but they have two problems that keeps them from being in my opinion a true state championship contender, their center backs are a tad bit slow and they are inconsistent.

MYSA site now lists WUP red won.

Even if inconsistent, they are 1 of 6 good enough to reach semifinals. The interesting thing about group play this weekend is which 2 of the 6 (assuming AV wins tomorrow) will unfortunately not get through.

Of course, the AV group looks like the toughest, but I still think the 4 that made it to last years semi finals will get through again this year, but anything can happen. My predictions mean nothing when the players step onto the field.

If AV gets through, their group will be tougher, because the other group has FC Mass., presumed to not be the equal of Blazers, WUP Red and Seacoast Benfica. What is FC Mass.'s best result this year? Probably win over Bayside in March.
But if Valeo/Arlington gets through instead of AV, maybe the quarterfinal groups are about even.
