What about Benfica? Also do they still have 2 teams this year (after the merger with SJ) or did players leave and now they are down to one. If there are 2 teams, is there one better than the other?

the 1 that went farther in last state cup was the better one. not sure if down to 1 team in this age group now. last year this benfica age group played in mps thanksgiving tourney.

Heard the Blazers have brought in some strong players to their crew -they will be in the mix.like the knights, they have no DAP players.

Predictions for some of the bigger games in the tournament coming up?
Such as:
Crusaders vs Mps knights
Blazers vs. Aztecs
Mps Bulldogs vs western

I think blazers and western will win handily, but crusader vs MPS could be a toss up and go either way

Not involved, but besides being a club that teaches technical possession-based soccer, maybe this has at least something to do with it?

That is the million $ question.........

They boast possession, techinical on the ground play....... but the ONLY team that seemed to have been able to accomplish anything is their BU 17 team (in Disney). Once they move on to college, there are no other teams from that club that are really credible or up and coming......what will the club do then????? Mediocrity all the way.......

..and they have not developed that BU17 team. That team was formed from a mass exodus of NEFC players when the club merged with PUMA

Crusaders beat the former state champs 4-1... Looked pretty good without their coach and several players missing. Though the knights were missing a few as well.

Yes, good point. Nothing developed from within the club. Maybe one or two. Their stronger player left for Benfica a few years ago..... Hmmmmm. Wonder why?

Anyone that knows this team knows the majority of kids have been with it since U11/U12. Some of these kids that have played with them since U-little that they "never developed" are now State and EM all stars. In addition to winning Region 1 last year.

They didn't win "Region 1." They won the Northeast Regional League, which is also known as "subregional." There's a big difference between the Northeast Regional League and the Region I Premier League!
