The by to whatever change (which won’t happen) would I’m sure negatively impact a few kids. So essentially everyone hoping for this change is basically saying as long as my kid is helped I’m good with it, I don’t care about anyone else. Which is typical terrible behavior. You don’t like that being pointed out? Too bad
Regardless, there are kids who will be positively affected, and kids who will be negatively affected. Those families have biases and we can dismiss their opinions as such. However, look at the non biased opinions, and you are hard pressed to find a reason to stay as BY other than "change is disruptive in the short term". In the long term, there are benefits to the change. Some specific to ECNL (recruiting), some specific to U-littles (playing with your friends) and some universal (convenience of not having to deal with trap years). You don't have to benefit from the change to see these positives. IMO, however, don't think the change is imminent because I think the powers that be are near sighted and don't want to deal with the short-term upheaval. Full disclosure: My two kids birthdays are both in April and they will be impacted minimally regardless of which decision is made.

Ask those kids on the Stars 2011 teams who've lost playing time to 2010s this fall. Then again in senior year, two players will lose playing time to Fall players.
Change is hard but no pain, no gain.

The easiest way to implement the change is to start at the U13 age group (whatever year they decide to do this) when they move to ECNL or GA and grandfather older teams. That would be the least disruptive to current teams and the ulittles will be forming and merging teams anyway.

Wrong thread,Go away. This thread is dedicated to angry 2011 nefc, scorpions and surf parents who bash the other clubs only to join them the next season. Then the two parents completely reverse and bash the clubs they once defended. The birth year debate is just a few threads away if you feel the incessant need to keep talking about it.
