no top team has 5-8 spots they are willing to drop and add players.

Not the OP but no idea. Maybe 2-3 on a really good day? It's hard to imagine any of the top teams finding 5-8 new starters at the same time. Replacing 5-8 bench players doesn't seem likely either just for all the usual pragmatic reasons.

5-8 players that aren’t equally good but we will only move as a pack. This is the definition of entitled and if I was the coach they were approaching I’d tell them to go elsewhere.

That won’t happen when they bring 2-3 of the top 2011s in the state, unfortunately

That’s what happened last year at Stars, Stars said no to the Natick Cartel. And both Stars and Select are top of conference teams. No way either one of them are displacing 8 kids for 1 top player, 2 good players and 5 average players. Maybe Scorpions or Stars White will take them all.

I'm a fan of player cartels at the younger years. It can provide some bargaining power for the families with the clubs. But they have a shelf life and always run their course during middle school and usually come to an end by high school/U15 at the latest. It's only natural--the better players of the cartel who are good enough to make whatever team they want will decide (or their parents will) that "playing with their friends" isn't worth being held back over any longer and they'll go their own way. They start thinking about playing against the best possible competition, college recruiting, etc. Could be this year, could be next, but it's coming.

Or the could all just stay at NEFC.

It's also a big reason why people leave town soccer.

There’s three in that mix worth taking the LM, CM and striker. The others need to do their own thing and stop tagging along with the elite players.

Player cartels in town soccer? Too early to be drinking friend.

That isn’t actually accurate. The head cheerleader of the group made the decision to go to NEFC because it was closer. There were a couple who had offers and when they bring the other strong mid and forward then that is 4 spots. That is not the Natick group because only 2 would get offers. It is the other NEFC players that will now go to Stars or SSS with them
