Expectations are huge because Blue is supposed to be crowned #1 in New England, right?
At minimum, you make ECNL playoffs and win your group. Anything less is a failure.
But...
1. SM is shutting down your attempts to poach his top players on White. JD won't step in (yet).
2. GA players have consistently rejected your recruiting attempts, and they seem to be locked up now.
3. You got your butt kicked by World Class a few weeks ago, and you have SUSA this weekend - it will be ugly.
4. Real chance you're falling to 3rd place, just ahead of White. Playoffs might be embarrassing.
What is the plan to avoid an 09-style meltdown?
KM is recruiting an amazing striker from NECSL! Hoist the cup! What a genius. Who knew. Let the White families gnash their teeth and lament...

SM took a team that was promising in 9v9 and has failed to transition them to 11v11. He's had the core of that team for 3-4 years and their results are declining each year.
Maybe there is a reason he only coaches the younger teams.
On the other hand, Blue's coach has taken a group that had a lot of questions coming out of U12 and shaped them into a playoff team. His other team is also doing quite well.
The post above says SM is trying to stop his top players from moving to Blue. Why would he do that to those kids? Sounds selfish.
It would be better for the kids, and the club as a whole to transition the 2 or 3 players that could make the move.
Looks like the kids would receive better coaching and we all know that the recruiting prospects will be better at Blue.

the only people that want them to move are select and NEFC because at least then they won’t be behind both stars teams.

or have 2 playoff teams that both get bounced in first round of playoffs? Serious question

At Stars, it is the expectation that Blue teams make Champions League. When White teams do well, it’s a bonus.
Playoffs at the youngest ages are really a waste—it’s a very long trip time-wise, always very expensive (Seattle last year, San Diego this year) and it’s not as though college coaches are attending any 2009 or 2010 games.
Parents of 2010s probably like the idea of it (if they don’t have older kids that have gone through the process), but if your kid stays at this level, you will be doing 3 showcases per year plus playoffs in a couple of years—it’s a lot (and worth it at that point). No need to do it at 12 years old.

I don’t care if you are a regional player or a national player. All 4 Stars 2010 ECRL, and ECNL are excellent passionate coaches. If your kid is lucky enough to make one of these 4 teams they are in good hands. There are some questionable coaches in this age bracket at other clubs. Don’t worry so much about being on the best team yet 2010s, or even acquiring all the best players yet coaches, I have a lot of respect for what I’m seeing across the board in this age bracket at Stars. Ignore the rest of the chatter here.
