I know this is talking soccer, but for those familiar with futsal; does anyone know this “2010” goalie? My daughter, 08, played a Flair team. Goalie was solid, but rumor was she was a 2010. If you know her, is she REALLY a 2010 or is this another example of Flair bending/breaking the rules? She arguable was one of the biggest girls on the court.

Yes, she's really a 2010. She plays for the NEFC 2010 GA team. She's just a tall kid and likely had her growth spurt sooner than average.

Yea it’s weird when she plays with the 2011 team in tournaments. 2011 play up in tournaments in 2010 bracket so it’s cool but looks so odd. She is very tall and good.

Use your own judgement. Was she amazing? To good to be an 08? Then who knows, perhaps she was an 05, 06, or 07 playing down, but I don’t know any coach that would have an older player, play down if their ability wasn’t matching their age. Vice versa, if she was “good enough” or “just ok” perhaps she is in fact a 2010 who is that good to be playing top tier 08.

Only weird part is when you say she plays in "tournament(s)", plural, with the 2011s. It was 1 tournament, due to the 2011 GK being injured and unable to play. Get over it, you lost to a younger team, not the end of the world. Also, are you saying it doesn't look odd when she plays with her 2010 team? The kid is half a foot taller than anyone on the field in those games as well. She grew early, don't understand what's the infatuation with this topic?

I know the family personally - no rules being broken, she is 2010 and plays GA for NEFC

They tried, Family said NEFC kids were most welcoming and coaches not abusive like the ones mentioned on this thread, They chose NEFC over about 6 other clubs due to culture and far better facilities

It’s nice to hear a parent do what’s best for the development of their child over the exposure of their child. Perhaps proof that you don’t need a badge to get recognized. If you are “that good” you will be talked about and will be noticed, no matter the league.

It’s nice to hear a parent do what’s best for the development of their child over the exposure of their child. Perhaps proof that you don’t need a badge to get recognized. If you are “that good” you will be talked about and will be noticed, no matter the league.

Sounds like disgruntled Stars parent or coach!!! Did you read the OP??? Sounds like an 08 parent dropped down inquiring validity. Then jumped because a butt hurt parent whose team lost to 2011 NEFC team with her as the goalie in a 2010 bracket. I know the family; dad is actually a straight shooter, really level headed dad. Always rooting for good plays regardless of team. Bottom line, this is a 2010 thread to discuss topics for that age group; the girl is questioned made Team USA Futsal; TEAM USA!!! Isn’t that the sole purpose of this thread. Stop being disgruntled that your daughter isn’t talked about on here. Only d bags and a holes call other people s bags and a holes!!!!
