It has not changed. This age group hasn’t hit the point where they stack Blue yet. Once it does, 3-4 of the kids will be offered spots on Blue. SM may want those families to stay but that doesn’t mean that they will. I can’t imagine a sales pitch that would get me to pass up the recruiting prowess of Blue if I was given that option.

White players can always go to Blue tryouts and practices. Happened last year and a few of SM white girls landed on blue after a year of crap with SM. SM doesn’t own the players on his team.

Some excellent 2010s out there not at Stars yet. Better than many of Stars Blue. Will they bump current players off roster or will another club be savvy enough to find those players and consolidate that talent? NEFC? Scorpions? What will happen if a bunch of strong players land on the same team besides Blue… they could beat Blue. What then for Stars? They don’t like blue losing to other MA clubs especially a GA team. The point is the current roster is fine today, but blue will be seopping half the girls or more over the next couple years as they start to see NEFC, Select, Scorpions grabbing more talent. Will those Blue players go back to SM? Will they drop to regional? So much left up in the air with this age group. We will see after those kids who haven’t hit puberty do so, and the kids who are still deciding if soccer is their top sport to specialize in.

When do goalies start heading to the top teams, or are they already there?

If you're not already there it's too late

Yah. Ok. Goalie is the position most likely to find late bloomers. Tall athletic girls that play other sports or other positions often come to goalkeeping late.

None of the top teams are in serious need of a keeper. The top four teams very in the quality of their keepers, but all of them are good.

That doesn't mean a prodigy won't show up by u15. And no club turns down a serious upgrade.

And they lack the foot skills needed to play the position in the modern game.

You don’t need to be ronaldinho to play goal in MA youth soccer. Even at ECNL. Not a one of the current ECNL/GA goalies are so good with their feet that that will be a deciding factor. It will come down to shot blocking. A tall athletic girl with the right mindset and some coaching can displace the incumbents. Happens every year. 2010 is no different.

The top goalies will look to upgrade their team/club in the next year or so. All will aim for Stars Blue.
