Not op but am a Stars parent. I do, in fact, hear people use the term 'national'. On this board its kind of understood and not needed to differentiate between regional, but it is used in person. If anything its the term 'ECNL' that is not used.

We do all the time in 2010 because the regionals love to call themselves ECNL when in fact they are ECRL so now we just say, so and so is on national or regional we dont say ECNL or ECRL

Not OP but am also a Stars parent. In my experience, using ‘National’ is not meant to be a dig at the Regional players. Just meant as a differentiator in conversation. Example: how did the regional team do v FSA? How did the National team do?
