The only worshippers he has/had are those very same 2010 kids and parents. He has told them how great they are for years and how they should all stick with him because of how special he has said they were. The kids and parents have eaten it all up. Every parent loves to hear how special their kid is. It’s a shame that he has no long term vision. He has played every game since U10 as if it was must win at the expense of development. He is now overreacting to the first dose of adversity. Let’s hope for the sake of those kids that he comes back fresh after his week off.

Different poster - I would love to take my daughter to Stars because the ECNL pathway is better and the competition in GA is terrible. No arguments on that. However, until I know SM will never coach my daughter I won’t move. I’ve seen him coaching. In this day and age how is his coaching style acceptable?

He’s easy to avoid. If you want to tryout, contact the staff for Blue and visit some practices. If, after they assess your daughter, she gets offered a spot on White, simply decline.

He is the director for white, not just a coach. If he was to coach in blue, he would have been stripped of his role as director and demoted. At that point I’d imagine its more likely that he would go to another club than to accept a demotion.

I call Bullsh&t. My daughter graduated the same year SM weaseled his way into stars and SM is a dbag. He is lucky he never spoke to my daughter the way he spoke to other girls... he is a small boy with a big mouth and zero college connection outside of his wife.

When SMs squad loses to SUSA this weekend he is going to lose it and unfortunately take it out on the kids. Its beyond comprehension the ECNL badge is so great that parents turn a blind eye to this DB verbally and mentally abusing their kids - now that's high level parenting

At least those parents know how to read a schedule and calendar. Did you put a reminder in your phone to troll stars before the SUSA game, but entered it on the wrong week? High level stuff right there buddy.

As witnessed in the link that YOU just provided, White is NOT scheduled to play SUSA this weekend. (Unless you are counting the SUSA regional team as SUSA -if so, you are alone in that. Dordt!) White DID lose to SUSA last weekend though.

I feel bad for all the white players, 2010, and all of them. They are basically 2nd, 3rd, 4th teams hoping if they work hard enough they will get the golden ticket. Parents of these kids hear what they want to hear. They put blinders on with SM and other poor coaches. It’s just not a good program. ECNL blue national or don’t bother the other ECNL and ECRL teams. They are a money grab with no focus on player development or mental health.

This is true also a stars white 2010 national player. So we lost Sunday. It happens. Coach angry. Chose to put on his hood, head down looking at phone, sat on end of bench, sulking. Decided to ignore 2009s for the start. Then yep cancelled practices for the week saying kids needed rest. Seems like a punishment. Parents are paying top ECNL $ for that? Kids needed more training, encouragement after that loss. This guy is probably one of the most complained about coaches but he still has worshipers because of his “college connections” and promises. Run to blue Stars! Stars 2010 blue excellent coach.

nobody actually at stars calls the ECNL teams “national” - this is 10000% another coach/club/troll
