the 2010 girls division will be on full display this upcoming weekend in Lancaster. 8 teams in top bracket. 6 are ECNL, 2 are GA. Best of luck to all the teams and players

Wish it was mandatory for all players to play in their correct age group in club soccer. Then we would know who the "best" teams really are. Until then, all comments about best teams are irrelevant.

The comments about "best" teams would still be irrelevant—if not now, then in a few months or a year from now.

Play the players where it helps their development most, not where it feeds insecure parents' bragging rights.

‘It’s their showcase team”. What a moronic statement. No club has a “showcase team”. Some years are deeper or have a couple exceptional players so they have more success (AS-LR as examples). But select treats all their top teams same. Also ,if they carry 18;18 play. My d is an 04 so I’ve been around to know these are the facts.it’s about developing, sometimes to their detriment because some strong players leave to go teams that are deeper and /or only play to win. (thats not bad either)

Clearly some parent(s) believes that their age group is more special than the others. Ive seen lower level clubs give special attention to a birth year with a bumper crop in the hopes to keep them from leaving for GA/ECNL, but I would imagine it takes a little more to get SSS so excited. If this group is still special at U15, maybe. At U12, its likely coming from a set of enthusiastic or gullible parents.

Where is the 2010 talent? Looks like most of it is at Stars Blue. Same for 2011. Where else do you see the littles talent?

Stars Blue is decent, nothing outstanding. Juve DPL would make a competitive game. Not sure on NEFC or Select, they might give them a game.

The sheer volume of talent in 2010 and 11 brings us back to the discussion of the need for more ECNL teams in Northeast. Not only to offer local good games but to give more players an opportunity to compete and get looks at the highest level. Surf RI, NEFC, Select, are all clubs that are geographically spread out and would be good spots for ECNL teams. You’d have a strong northeast program and less league travel.

We need more clubs with ECNL teams in the northeast. 2010s and 11s will prove this point. Not all the top 10s even play for Stars, or the GA clubs. They are all over the state.

Give it 2 years. The 2 or 3 true top kids from each team will consolidate among the GA and ECNL teams. Just like always.

You are overestimating Juve, playing in the NECSL and DPL has skewed your idea of what a good team looks like. Winning in those leagues is much different than GA or ECNL. The teams above and Stars White would handle them with ease. Maybe Scorpions too. There may be a couple great players at Juve but not a whole team.

Played both. Stars Blue '11 while a nice team is not impressive. I'm sure as the group grows older, players will come in. At this point in time, Juve DPL would beat White who is not a good team and possibly Blue. Blue destroyed the Scoprions over the weekend; the two teams are not close

No ****. There are several comments about the '11 on the first page. My reply was to that. Not hard to follow along

So I have know lots of 2010s and 11s so very aware of these two age groups. Both are very talented groupings of girls and I agree more good players out there not on ECNL than on ECNL. I also agree stars and scorpions won’t get them all due to many reasons such as logistics (stats Lancaster Um nope) or reputation (scorpions). The 2010s that cannot drive to Lancaster need to stick with either Select or NEFC to get scouted later and play at National level. Not as good as ECNL but we can’t all move there can we? Select and NEFC GA could likely end up down the line with amazing 2010 teams just due to the fact that there are only so many national spots on Stars Blue and White. 2011s at SSS, incredible team for their age group. But Bolts South and West have some outstanding players as well as the impact teams from several clubs including Liverpool Academy.
