Scheduling tournaments during Thanksgiving weekend is all about the host club making money. It’s pretty slimy. So glad our coach made it optional for his teams with a serious tone of “no pressure” family first. He’s not holding it against any players if they don’t show. He said he will piece together plates from various teams to make it work out for those interested. If your club is playing in this ridiculous tournament know that you are likely not matching up against the actual top team players. Lots of players taking that weekend off to rest, travel etc. NEFC greed showing with this tournament.

Sounds like we're laying the groundwork for excuses already. Which I actually agree with but get off this greed thing. Players play and I'd rather see them play Thanksgiving weekend and be prepared for Champions League then just hope they're ready. Tournaments happen on holiday weekends. It's just a fun weekend to close out the fall in the northeast, relax and enjoy watching them play.

Both Select and NEFC thanksgiving “tournaments “ are useless crap. Our team missing 3 top players and I know of others that will be as well. Have fun posting boasting your wins but I warn you we will be laughing at you. Top and second teams have an option to play or not these two weeks many starters taking a break. Enjoy playing the subs.
