You are both off track on this argument. It is possible, and correct, to call out behaviors as bad without calling the kid bad.

However that is absolutely not what SM does. Stop defending the guy. He does it in public for all of us to see and hear. The only reason he hasn’t been canned is because of people like you. After telling your kid she is useless he tells you how great she is. You like hearing that and keep your kid on the team and don’t speak up. You’re worse than he is for putting your kid in that situation.

Correction I think what you are seeing is hard work beating out talent not trophy players beating out early competitive players.. handing out awards for just showing up doesn't foster the need to work hard for what you want especially if everyone gets the same thing no matter what effort we put forward .

I'll add: there is a difference between a high floor and a high ceiling. Parents, and sadly many coaches, cannot tell the difference.

In fact, the vast majority of youth soccer coaches in the US (regardless of the coach's origin) have such a "win-now" attitude that a high floor is far more important to them than a high ceiling. Instead of patiently developing players with high ceiling, these coaches pick the highest floor player every year, and every year this changes as those with a higher ceiling slowly take over. The downside is that many higher ceiling types never reach their potential (you can't get better unless you play with the best, but you can't play with the best unless you are the best...)

So you are suggesting that Stars White has more talent but doesn’t work as hard as other teams? I think you have it backwards. Their success 2 years ago came from out working the other teams. Now the lack of skill and talent has caught up to them and the hustle isn’t enough anymore.

White generally has higher floor, lower ceiling players. Because that's just the type of coach SM is.

Look at Blue a year ago. Clearly lower floor players that KM took and developed into something better over the course of the full year. Big philosophical difference. Then he went and told the 08 team the truth, and the mommies got mad and "politics GB" fired him.

I’ve heard from NEFC parents that have kids that played for PW that he is a snarky A-hole that demeans little girls and has zero accountability when team loses…. I’ve also heard from other NEFC parents that he is the best coach their daughter has ever had.

The majority of players will NOT come from White. If you believe that you are crazy. I’d bet that not even all 3 of those players you mention would make it. Definitely no firoutside of those three
