ECNL teams are very clear about the league they are in and the travel required. It most certainly isn’t for everyone, but the travel is what is required. No judgement if you can’t swing it, I totally get it. If that’s the case then play for an Impact or NECSL club and lighten your load. Like I originally said, some families do enjoy traveling.

The ECNL parent is making a fair point. You as a parent get to decide what is best for your kid and your family. ECNL is the better league and the better fit for them. Impact is a solid league and a better fit for my family. It’s all good.

Surely if there’s a player on the Regional team who is a significant upgrade on a player (same position) on the National team they would be offered a spot.
Otherwise they’re weakening the National team deliberately. That wouldn’t make sense - if the ECNL was as competitive and cut throat as it’s made out to be.
College coaches don’t care what team you’re currently on. If you’re an upgrade, you get the offer.

There are college commits from Regional teams this year, if you look. If your kid enjoys the sport and it allows them to play in college— even if a D2 without a ton of money— wouldn’t that be better than them sitting around doing TikTok?
The reason TS is toxic is that some people don’t know why they are paying what they paying, and come here to stir up enough rancor to make it seem like no one raw does either.
But it’s not true. A lot of people know they’re on the right team for the right reason for the right investment of time and money. Try to join that group of parents.

I think people take the travel thing to an extreme. Just looking at one Regional MA team that plays fall and spring.
In total they team had 10 out of 16 games in MA.
CT 2 times
they had a weekend 2 games in NY.
1 stand alone trip to NY
1 trip to NJ
I get the trips to NY stink. They had 9 games in the spring 2 were out of the state in CT.
Also what is the difference in tuition for impact and ecnl?
What’s does it cost at stars vs select?
