Wait u til you get an offer and turn it down. You owe the coach and the club nothing. This is still a good way to go because you won’t be talking about it on the sidelines.

If you like the coach don't go that route. You never know when paths may cross again. It's a small soccer world. If they guy has been a jerk or just a poor coach, then do whatever makes you comfortable. Not everyone is a jerk all the time.

As a coach, I've never been offended that a players is leaving one of my teams, unless it's for a reason directed at me. I'm which case I would wonder why the parent didn't let me know that there was in issue beforehand so that we could rectify it.

in short, just have open dialogue like adults or like you would with any standing customer-business relationship.

Not true. Some clubs are still having tryouts so they haven't officially sent offers yet.

Correct. My son's club still has two ID days left.

You must be a great coach, but the reality is that this is not always the case and for a parent there is the fear that reaching out with concerns about how the team is managed, etc, might result in being considered a "problematic" parent and potentially have repercussions on your child.

This^^^ I'd like to have a discussion with the coach about a few troubling things but I know with half the season left the only 1 who is gonna be negatively affected is my child. Best to wait it out and holefully convince my kid to try a different club and go elsewhere next season

Unfortunately most will turn a blind eye to a trouble parent, even if their actively interrupting a game

Sux anyway you look at it. Just got to try and remember that it's what affects the child that counts not how we feel as parents its what's in the best interest of the kid not the parents

But some parents want it to be all about them and not the kids. It's when a coach/club allows it that it's embarrassing for the rest of the families/teams.

Here's another question... when should coaches tell parents/players that they are leaving? Wait until the end of the season or during season (now)?

Do coaches ever tell anyone that during evaluations?

Players will find out the name of the coach they have been assigned when they receive their roster offers, but it would be better if they are informed before the “tryout period” if possible.

Maybe. Depends on the club and how organized they are.

Also never forget coaches can and do leave for professionaland personal reasons. If you're worried about getting most of the coaches at a club then think twice about joining. If you'd be ok with most coaches then go ahead. A club with a lot of coach turnover is a red flag for other issus
