Lol ever met a soccer parent? Think they'll buy into it? It won't happen here. US coaches dont have a clue either. Even abroad where coaches actually kind of know what they're doing, they don't ways get it right either

I think it’s worth a look at academies. My outsider impression is that too many of the short kids with great technical skills figure into the system earlier because of their agility and lightning quick foot skills. Meanwhile a look at their parents shows they’ll top out at 5’5” as a boy. Waste of a regional or national development slot in the early years. Sure the occasional super star is short, but international and national league players are fairly tall. Not basketball tall, but imposing. The search for the next Messi shouldn’t come at the cost of a dozen Ronaldo’s, Harland's, or Lewendowski’s.

It has to be written to any league bylaws for legal reasons, and even then all it takes is one bad accident involving an older kid and there's lawsuit risks. That's why I don't think you'd ever see it adopted in any large scale fashion. Won't sit well with soccer parents and even some players - no one wants to play with the younger kids no matter how good it might be for your development.

Done at MLSNEXT. I believe it is too allowed that slow to hit puberty player an opportunity to catch up to those who already hit puberty who are not necessarily better players. Also under another name, Re-classing, PG year, done all the time.
