2013 Boys Soccer Verbal Commitments

Just because you are going to a college and you have played soccer doesn't mean you were "recruited". Most of these players sought out the schools and their soccer programs.

It is great to see more and more Mass players on these lists though.

Even "recruited" players sought out the schools....that is how it works.

Most of the D1 rosters are out. We know already who is on them. With regard to impact, very few freshman are going to play significant roles on these teams. They are basically just setting themselves up for sophomore year and beyond.

Update on 2013 D1 players

As they enter camp, all of the kids listed are rostered except for about 2 teams who have not yet supplied their 2013 rosters. One notable exception is MR of UConn, who is not rostered. There are 53 players, of which 6 are upperclass transfers, and 9 of which are ISL types that do not list their hometown as being MA. In previous years, I generally did not include these. Even so, 37 is a large number going in. We'll see what happens. GL to all.

His club team had him going there in a recent posting. The UConn roster does not show him as of today, and about 9 new Freshman are on the list. Haven't found anything googling.

I heard he'll be going to Eastern CT for a year before transferring in to UConn.

Only one true Freshman on the roster. I've been waiting for them to update their 2013 roster. Another is a RS Freshman from Cape Verde. There is a flotilla of Upperclassmen that I need to add to the D1 lists for other years. I will do that. A huge find is the presence of All Conference player Carlos Ruiz now moving from BU to UMass Lowell. He and his family know soccer. Have seen both play recently, I think he is now with a team that plays a better caliber of soccer.
