Won't entering as a soph break the new NCAA rule of only 5 years of high school?

Simple honest question asked and of course TS crew must bash turn negative somehow....won't really matter where he ends up for college because one thing is for sure his talent is unquestionable. Here's hoping he has a wonderful college career whereever he ends up.

Question is whether or not NCAA will honor his amatuer status. He may not qualify if they consider his stint in Spain as professional? Was he paid or compensated in any way. Even if he just got room and board he may disqualify for NCAA.

really, then you would think that BC, Uconn, HC, BU, NU would have him lined up for the fall already

Lots of athletes get free room and board at private schools. The Revs give free room and board to players.

If you are questioning whether he has enough talent to play at the above schools, then you've never seen him play on multiple times, and I don't just mean for Somerville HS this past fall. FDB is certainly talented enough to be an impact player at all of the colleges listed above. Whether there is a question regarding his eligibility given his Eurpean hiatus I don't know, but questioning the talent is not an issue.

Shorter D3 list than I expected, even if some people havent publicized their destination yet.

The vast majority of D3 players are not listed here. If the past 3 years graduating classes are an indication then there will be close to 50 or 60 players from Mass HS class of 2013 who will play D3. Most are not publicizing their destination. In total there should be 100+ attempting to play college soccer as frosh next fall from Mass. The real question is how many of the 100+ will still be playing college soccer in 4 years?

I said it very early in this thread and I'll say it again: you won't see me posting my kids name here though he's been committed since early October. I know I can't control what others know and post but I sure can control what I put there. Too much negativity and bashing here.

Why is whether or not they are playing in 4 years "the real question"??? What special status do you achieve if you play for 4 years? Does that really carry any special significance? You weren't "real" unless you played all 4 years, is that it?
