OMG - now THAT is a funny comment.

I suspect the brouhaha was started by a parent who had, has or is about to have a student at Brandeis and feels the need to legitimize the decision. It's a good school but I don't know if I would use the word "superb" to describe it.

So using the ADMITTED numbers, which seem important to you, do they not reveal that students with higher test scores are not choosing to enroll at Brandeis and go elsewhere? Perhaps this is why they have a 39.9 acceptance rate.

You really are dumb. The admit numbers aren't important to me. I posted them and you contested them by presenting enrolled numbers. I was simply correcting you. Every high end college has high end kids choose other high end colleges. It's called overlaps, and you can tell something about the quality of a college by its top 5 or top 10 overlaps.

This is stupid because I do not have anyone at Brandeis or about to enroll and I didn't go there. Can some of you be a little more creative in your deductions? I just can't stand when people have no idea of the truth about colleges and take shots that are way off the mark. This little back and forth started AFTER I noted that Brandeis tends to be under the radar and overlooked, and in large part that is because folks do assume it is not on a par with the NESCACs. A couple of posters replied that it is not off the radar and now we're back to people saying it's not as good as I'm saying. Wow.

For the last time, I said people in academic circles know the truth. Now if some of you are in high academic circles and disagree with me then I would love to hear it. Otherwise, I'll assume these are folks who have no idea, who are dissing schools their kids won't be able to get in, and then what will they say when they're struggling to get in schools a half-tier and full-tier down?

As for getting off topic, get over yourself, as we get an update of one or two names on the commitments about once a week.

Great schools, but, you'll never get in any of them if you can't focus. Can we get back on topic here?

So what is your personal cutoff for 'superb'?

The 5 schools ranked immediately ahead are Tufts, Michigan, UNC, BC and NYU. It is tied with William and Mary and Rochester. Below that are schools like Lehigh, RPI, Tulane, GW, Northeastern, Penn State, Maryland, etc.

Well???? We're waiting. The major inconvenient interruption paused as requested so we could get right back on thread topic and regain a laser-sharp business-edge focus. So? Anything?

Hey there, name calling is hurtful. Anyway, I'll take your response as a yes.

the faculty at all these schools are horrible. I can't imagine sending my kids there and spending thousands to be taught by idiots who couldn't get decent university jobs. People - there's no point sending your kids and paying for crap schools.

Then I guess you won't be sending your kids to college. "Couldn't get decent university jobs?" Now I am LOL.

Two of the top four public national universities in the USA. Tufts is crap? BC is crap? Rochester is crap?

^^^^^There it is! A 2013 update. Back on point. And with a 2009 or 2010 kid. Not often you see a kid transfer to a higher level team with likely less prospects to actually play.

You don't see that too often. DM played for FO's Blazers and played a lot at BU in his three seasons. For him to transfer to L'ville for his senior year tells you that there must be an "interesting" back story....

Its a high end prep school with a fair share of foreign players that went far in the playoffs. They have 2-3 decent players. The coaches son and a few others are pretty average, I doubt they are scholarship players at those schools. Yes they are bright and went to a very good prep school but don't over estimate their soccer talent. n
