    2000 Boys ODP

How was the first day of ODP? We had a conflict ad couldn't make it. Was the competition good? Any outstanding players? How many players did they accept?

Don't waste your time. Save yourself the miles and money. Find a good club and it will pay greater dividends.

We were pretty happy with it. Lots of excellent players. I counted about 40 players but I heard they accepted over 50. The drills were good and my son had a great time being challenged and got to know a few kids. He did it last year too and thought that this year, there are even more good players.

yeah, why? Let me guess, he turned down the Barcelona academy offer and now wishes he didn't.

Oh well then. I'll stick with the opinion of cocky 12 year old as my basis to form an opinion versus 35 years of proven history of success with the ODP program...

"proven history of success with the ODP program.."? Not sure how you define success but we did not even qualify for the Olympics this past summer.

This is a money grab. Pure and simple. Parents think they "need" it so they can have it on their kids resumes. Because of the money (and travel and time committment) involved they are not getting the best players

less money and travel than DAP and ECNL by far... One tournament and one practice a week... So where is the travel and time commitment? So I'll bite... Where are the best players going?
