So many FC Stars teams

My kids have been playing club soccer for a while, but I still never realized how many FC Stars teams there are. Below is the list from https://youthsoccerrankings.us/ just for 2008 girls in Mass! Some are likely duplicates, because they changed their names (such as #35 and #36) or entered a tournament with a slightly different name. YSR doesn't pick up on that unless someone tells them. But even with the duplicates, it's a lot of teams and kids in one age group.

I really hope they are not selling "the pathway" to all these teams. Or at least I hope that no one is buying it.

Pretty sure Stars (along with clubs like NEFC, Select, Scorpions, etc.) are providing multiple teams at multiple levels for kids that want to play club soccer. Should they not have NPL or NEP teams? Are we seriously getting to the point where providing teams for lower level players is a bad thing? Who decides whether a kid should be able to play club soccer, even if it’s at a lower level? Shouldn’t that be the choice of the player and parents?

"I sure hope FC Stars isn't telling all their players that they are 'Stars' because I mean how many stars can there really be in one club, am I right?" Do you really think a stupid hashtag is put in each contract "You are now on a #provenpathway to a D1 scholarship"? Like the Metrowest team parents are asking at each event, "Where is Anson Dorrance? I don't see Anson Dorrance!" Pretty sure it's the league that does most of the hyping anyway-- the ECNL teams get ECNL hype, Impact NPL teams get Impact NPL smoke blown up their caboose, NEP, DPL. and so on and so forth.

Unlikely. Most parents don't give a crap what happens on other teams at clubs. They're focused on their kid and their team. If they're happy, they stay. If not, they leave.

08s are at that point where there's a lot of consolidation and changes. The funnel into the HS years get much tighter. Big clubs have a lot of teams across a state for geographic ease. There's also plenty of leagues for clubs to play in. Not sure what's so shocking about this.

NEFC has more teams, but go off I guess

Teams? You can't call these teams! Not at FC Stars, NEFC, and so many other "big" clubs in MA. These are nothing but groupings of players. Real teams can only be found at small, fairly local clubs managed mostly by volunteer coaches who are solely devoted to their team, in clubs that don't share players from team A to team B, etc. Groupings of players are NOT real teams.
