In at times, torrential rains, the BC Eagles sent a message to the rest of New England with a 5-0 thumping of UMass last evening in a scrimmage. BC is the real deal. Skilled, fast and athletic, and seemingly better prepared to open the season than last year. The ACC competitive cauldron should prepare them for a run deep into the NCAAs. Go BC!

Good job BC girls! The rest of New England watched the rain drops fall because they weren't there and these results aren't part of any official scores. Wanna know a secret? It's pre-season and they award trophies at the END of the season.

Get over yourself. It's pre-season. Hope you don't get hurt patting yourself on the back. Yes, your kid is the greatest - congratulations.

Congratulations to your daughter for making the team.......cause why else would you be reporting these per-season scores other than to self promote your own kid.....??
That being said....BC is probably a decent team.... For New England

Prolific Scorer?
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostWhat is the big deal, I don't have a horse in this race, but it is exciting to get the season started. I was wondering who scored because I was wondering if MM got any goals. She is a prolific scorer and I wondered if it translated to the college level. Isn't this what this forum is for. Not meant to bash anyone, but curious. I have a player who will play next year and I am wondering about the transition, especially in the earliest part of the season.

This has nothing to do with the child belonging to the initials or to BC in particular, but you folks should understand that starting on a college team (especially women's) has as much to do with the players already there and vacancies and acceptance of a new player. It is no disgrace not to start as a freshman - especially if there are already senior players at the position. Yes coaches will use the players as best they can to win - but if there is push back among senior teammates if may not happen until later in the season or after certain "big" personalities graduate. If the freshman contributes off the bench in one of the major conferences and competes for top points as an attacking player that is a great success. This is not high school and the egos have to be dealt with in the most constructive way. I've seen tops points getters come off the bench because teams are top heavy with big personalities.
