Please share what made them "amazing"? Was it one or two kids or a pretty balanced team? Must have a decent number of club players - where do they play?

If so...wow!!!

I guess I don’t understand the bashing of MTOC. If you check, I know you will find that most of the teams in the Final game had a number of club players. .. Yes, Scorpions, NEFC ,MPS all playing on the same team. … I know I am old fashion (because I am old), but I think playing for your town, with your best friends is special. Playing for a club that gets kids from a dozen towns does create a great soccer team, but to what end, in 4 years these teammates will be playing against each other on their high school teams. I think club soccer is great, they have great professional coaches, and good players. The only problem I have is the cost, I believe it prevents many talented kids from playing. I believe that MTOC is a true picture of the State Champion. Going by the MTOC results I wouldn’t be surprised if in 4 years the U14 girls from Andover and Franklin are both playing for the MIAA State Championship, while the club teams most of the girls are on have scattered to the winds.

Good post ppj - I like club soccer a lot and its important for kids to develop their games there against top players, but by the time your getting to the finals at MTOC the calibre of teams are strong and filled with club players. We were one of the teams that made the finals and we have 11 club players. Is the play as strong as the better clubs, no. But, its still fun for the kids and its closer to the high school experience which is the end of the line for most players anyway, so they might as well have fun and have something they can remember
