Oh, come on what is the fun in that. The parents on that Scorpions team are amongst the most arrogant in the state and the owner of the club flaunts their accomplishments like a cheap neon sign.

Still waiting on the NEFC "elite" costs....

Still waiting to hear if NEFC "elite" teams have any turnover from U11 to U14 and U15 to U18...

UCLA vs MCLA....you make the call.
Don, this post says it all.

Not a single false statement and nothing derogatory about any other clubs.

What's wrong with 46 out of 55 players going D1... and they certainly have had their fair share of national and regional level players.

"...of the 55 players rostered on our current U17-U19 teams, 46 are or will be playing Division 1 soccer, 3 will be playing in Division 2, and 6 in Division 3. A partial list of matriculations:

      Boston College (3)
      UCLA
      Maryland (2)
      Georgetown
      Harvard (2)
      Yale (2)
      Princeton
      Brown
      Providence (5)
      UConn
      UMass
      And about 25 others!"

Exactly. And these folks still refuse to answer the very simple questions posed. If their club can top 46 out of 55 to D1 (actually rostered and playing soccer) then I want to know so I can try to get my kid there. Please tell.

46 out of the last 51 standing? Oh, Don how desperate can you be?

OK...so keep thumping your chest Don - errr -Fred or whomever you are. Pehaps a few people are listening. But you can't take credit for athletic, or academic aptitude. I suppose if the girls come up with the cure for cancer, you will take credit for that too. Please - just get over yourself. They are self-driven, motivated girls who happened to play up there for a few years, because they could, period. But it's not feasable for most normal soccer families. These girls could have written their ticket wherever they wanted. But you can keep claiming that you were responsible, and bashing our little state's recent Regional success if it makes you feel that much better. Most of us can see through your BS and we are happy right where we are, down here in beautiful Little Rhody.

              Signed,
              a happy RI soccer mom

Sorry to offend you Rhody. I didn't make any claims about these clubs creating or producing the players...simply that FOR SOME REASON they choose to go there. And I know the RI players are great, but I wasn't just talking about them. Apparently a lot of great students and fantastic soccer athletes CHOOSE to play for Stars and Scorps. Just sayin'. I don't have any affiliation with either club, btw. My players are boys.

No worries, we are used to being looked over and yes mocked by parents and sometimes coaches from MA and the rest of the greater Northeast for that matter. NH could say same thing with the Gatorade National player of the year....My sons played lax and same thing happens with that sport.

I am a sometimes follower of this site and I am sick of the arrogance and condescension that pours down from from so many posters. Finally had to add my 2 cents...

College placements for this team are impressive. As they are for the Stars West and Stars United U18 teams, both of whom rival all other teams not called Scorpions.

It's mind-boggling that the hard work of these girls and their families has been twisted negatively.
since U15 there has been very little change to Stars roster. they added mps only great player and got the nt kid from nh--that's it.....scorps got 6 players from u16 on that went d1......just sayin

Just saying, just saying..... the above statement is absolutely not true. Also added Regional pool player from Ohio at U16, added two keepers since U16, added a regional pool player from NH at U16 and she left at U17, added a defender at U15 who was cut at U17, added two scorpion players at U15.... That is not all of the changes, but far more than you have stated. And this is the team that cut 9 players upon their return from losing in the U14 National Championship game. Care to keep going with this game? Please try the truth........just sayin

stars has 2 uconn 2012 commits. one from the u18 ecnl, and 1 from the u18 united team. both are skilled players.

but do you really think that if the school didn't include the player in the press release that announces the incomming class that they expect much from that player, never mind gave them any money? Keep in mind these families would have spent thousands presumably for the opportunity to receive a college scholarship and the clubs are using their commitments like a business card in their sales pitch. In this case the inclusion would appear to be misleading.

This is more a function of a team's ability to recruit players for a one or two year run with a team than anything else. If you go back over the course of time you will find that it is hardly a unique feat. Clubs like CRU and the Bolts had similar runs. Important to note that CRU doesn't even exist any longer.

Club teams go up and down - one strong age group one year, one weaker the next. Not all the ECNL teams were "just" recruited. Scorps and Stars U19 stayed largely the same for years and years.
