ECNL, NON ECNL, b teamers, c teamers and ballerinas. If I put half as much energy into accepting my child for who she is rather than trying to create or live my own dream through her questioning every possible decision related to her soccer "career," I'm sure all of this would be meaningless.

    Enough already..
Then why have a forum? If you don't like the subject matter you are able to stay away. It is your choice. You seem to be objecting because posters are handing it to the Stars for their weak performance out at Nationals. Perhaps now you will understand how some of the families from other clubs feel with the constant bashing they get.

lord knows if you're unhappy, you should leave. anyone who is unhappy at this point needs some serious help.

So the unhappy campers need serious help? How many games did your team win? How many days did you stay in Chicago? What was the price tag for that little extravaganza? Who needs their head examined?

Actually I am just dizzy reading the same arguments over and over and over again. I could care less how the Stars do at Nationals because I'm from a different ECNL club. Just tired of this debate. But you're right...I am able to stay away.

How can ECNL survive? From what I see on the Championship site, once you lose, you stick around and play as many as three consolation games (that's three more days!). So it's stifling hot out, and you have already been eliminated, and you can't even go home.

Its a showcase, all ECNL events are showcases.

Can you please try and forget about you precious trophies for long enough to realize that they don't matter?

Would you make up your minds? Is it really all about being a showcase, or is it all about the competition and development, or is it simply the best league on the planet? You folks are all over the place. As far as I can tell you all promise everyone everything hoping some schlep will buy some of it.

Are you so stupid that you don't realize that while a team may have been eliminated from championship contention, there will still be college coaches watching games? Additionally, and this is more important for the 14s, 15s, & 16s, playing against good competition IS about development.

You sound like you're from the "juice pouches and trophies for everybody" crowd.

The people at the top of the ECNL can't even figure out if it is a development league or a winning league. Let's put it this way, if there is 50 plus clubs not everyone can win, so it has to be a development league, since there will always be those at the bottom, for whatever reason...mostly because of geography. Reading the FC Milwaukee spin off thread to a joint type club by the guy who runs this ECNL show, hopefully was done for better development, but sounds like it is so he can recruit in more players to win more. Is this going to be the case for ever club who thinks they need more players to win...or could we get back to the focus of developing the best players in the area of maybe two hours around each club? I vote for development of the best players in an area...these are young players who aren't going to be the best until about age 17, much less as a team...patience in order for coaches, league reps, and parents.

That's why you leave players home and pickup new players for development? You Stars folks are clueless!

So since this is a National league does that mean Cailfornia can come here to recruit my daughter and son? I assume National means there is no boundaries, right?!?

There use to be some rule about a 200 mile type radius, or something like that, but not sure if that still holds. Then there are Discovery players, which is another way of putting kids on rosters, but haven't looked lately, so someone could clarify this. Rostering rules seem to have gotten a little lighter.

Carolina Elite U16s and U17s win Region 3 championships. Both are in the B division of ECNL. Enough said
