They are not in R1 premier league, they were relegated out and moved down to sub regionals.

Interesting.. on the Region 1 website it clearly states: "The deadline date to enter is Friday, November 9, 2012. Notification of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent to each team's Primary Contact via email on or before December 30, 2012."

So with your statement being so definitive, it seems that either (a) you are on the Region 1 committee and have made a decision prior to viewing all team applications; (b) you have been told this by someone on the Region 1 committee and have been given authority to share at will; (c) found some link or document on the Region 1 website that shows the teams that have been relegated out; (d) representing your assumption as a fact to promote your own agenda.

And exactly how old is NEFC?
True but the split into two paths only occurred this year. Prior to this year the ECNL teams competed on the R1 path like every other team. The R1 path is decades old and well established where as the ECNL is only a couple of years old now.

NEFC was formed in 1992 as Tri-Valley United. In 2002 Ed Kelley left FC Greater boston to join Tri-Valley United and the club became known as Tri-Valley Eagles. In 2009 Tri-Valley Eagles merged with FC Puma to form NEFC. In 2012, the Grasshoppers merged with NEFC making NEFC one of the largest clubs in New England.

You are right they do have an extremely slim chance of making it back in. Historically the bottom two teams in each bracket are relagated to subregionals. The MPSR have a better chance being the SC wnners, you will also see a PDA club team taking up a spot even though they didn't apply last year.

They are the ones that created the second path by pulling out of the USYSA competitions and then trying to sell the ECNL as an equal alternative. It is not. Lovely to stay loyal to the tried and true but where the unravel comes in is with the formation of the ECNL league the Reg. 1 league has changed and done so toward the negative. My daughter played Reg.1 both prior to ECNLs formation years ago and then while she was with ECNL and we are talking of a watered down, huge gap bet. the caliber of Region 1 teams.

Sorry I know you alternate route folks will disagree but fact is fact. And the kicker is you really dont have time to dig your heels in and fool around with a wait and see attitude because the coaches should be coming a knocking if you are a top D1 candiate at u15-16.
Where are the Bees- in the trap!!!!!!!

Been hearing this from the Stars parents as part of their justification for not jumping ship to NEFC. The really funny thing about it is NEFC will get into the R1PL exactly the same way that Stars West got into it this year only NEFC has a lot more credibility and power to make it happen. First, they have an actual roster (as opposed to the contrived one the Stars used) with regional pool and national pool players. Next, they made it to the final game of the state cup where as the precursor to that Stars West team, WU, never even got close. Lastly, NEFC is becoming one of the largest clubs in New England and that carries power. Now if you want to talk about results, we can always talk about flying out to Chicago to get your butt whipped as opposed to driving down to Yonkers, it is not like the Stars are proving themselves anywhere either. Pick your poison but don't be naive and buy into the hype that NEFC won't be playing in the R1PL next spring.

You can only fight those willing to fight. Its the ECNL teams that lose out. How many ECNL titles will ECNL win with STATE CUP CHAMPIONS included? None. Same answer to both questions.

How many ECNL titles has NEFC won? Oh, that's right. They didn't qualify for the league.

                        This league is a joke!

The ECNL allows players who haven't played all year to enter their championship? You have girls who have played their heart out just get moved aside in the end. More importantly what kind of league would allow coaches to take advantage of kids in this way? What's the conversation like? Hi I would like you to join our team now because we don't care about chemistry? These clowns are everything that's wrong with sports and that's why you go 2 and out. I would never sign my daughter up for that club EVER! I wonder what goes through the mind of these parents. $$$$$$$$

So what would you have done if your club HAD been accepted and joined this joke of a league?

Maybe it's time for another alumni list from the pathetic ECNL clubs to remind you where the graduates go.

Typical response from Stars land. We would have done what's right and taken the team that got us there.
