This is data from Men's teams. On an ECNL thread? Moron.

U15 is not a recruiting year. It is a preliminary contact year for you and your dughter to get on a list at the colleges she is interested in. Period.

You have no reference point for how the ECNL was created to actually believe the whole thing was about college. IT had nothing to do with college recruiting from the start.

Red Bull used to run a national "league" that you had to be invited to participate in because of the team's performance. It was not really a league but was the top tier of teams in an age group in bigger tournaments. It was a place that college coaches spent more time at than the next tier of players at showcase tournaments as the teams earned their way there and therefor there we generally better players. Not all the teams from a club were included btw. Red Bull stopped supporting the "league" and it ended. The core of that group of clubs - Stars, Eclipse, PDA, etc - got together and created ECNL in order to have the "best" competitive environment, right the wrongs of the games v practice time and create an exclusive marketing/recruiting ability to get top payers and also to create a common schedule and automatic inclusion instead of having some of their teams excluded from the selection process.

Adding the U15 age is no different than the DAP programs adding a pre-academy program. Revenue, marketing, recruiting and "development."

ECNL has marketed itself brilliantly to you all and to college coaches. You all are too naive to understand the reality and unless you have a historical perspective you don't want to listen either. College coaches like the ECNL but have not left the regular showcase and recruiting process behind and are also getting a little weary of the ECNL as well as their experiences have not always been what was advertised.

This is just reality. I no longer have a dog in the fight. Just trying to give some semblance of reality to all of you.
Things have changed since you went through the process. U15 ECNL players are being actively recruited. More than 30 coaches on our sidelines at PDA, similar numbers at SD.

Unofficial visits have taken place, commitments will be made over the summer and fall.

You don't have to believe it but it is true.

I hoped you laughed in their face. If they actually were recruiting your daughter it seems pretty far fetched that they would be telling you to leave the environment that spawned her. I smell fish.

Not just ECNL teams. All the top players are being recruited regardless of the league they play in. That was the point. The league means nothing. It is all about the level if talent.

You're right. My point was about the fact that u15s are being recruited. Players on the top U15 are being recruited now and will be committing in the next 4-12 months.

There were many coaches scouting at PDA, there will be many at Reguonals there will be many at Chicago.

Things have changed in the past few years and the timeline has shifted. Spring of u15 is now an active recruiting year for that caliber of girls. Not just for NT and IR girls - those girls have been goin strong for over a year (see stars ECNL GK who commuted to Duke 10 months ago).

These are not generic invites to camps, these are emails to club coaches suggestig players to get in contact with them (not a violation BTW).

Who was well on her way towards committing to Duke before she joined the Stars.

You're right. I'm sure she really regrets having made the move to the Stars. What did she get to do there? Probably wasted her time playing with and against the best players anywhere. Should have stayed with premier or town. When will people learn?

That's why I included her as an example of the NT and IR timeline. People in that pile started committing 12 months ago and the mere mortals are now starting to follow a year later.

I'm not trying to prop up any club here, rather I'm trying to demonstrate the current timeline to the poster that doesn't believe u15s are being recruited.

There is absolutely nothing Stars can do correctly. Everything anyone says positively about them is a lie. Everyone should go to NEFC where Chris Hamblin can use his rolodex and get you seen - even if you aren't on his team.

Best egos money can buy that is all the ECNL really has. Stars are losing their brightest younger players. Their parents clearly see the handwriting on the wall, suggest some of you think twice.

NEFC is the only way; it's not good enough to say there are two ways. Until one of NEFC's repeated application to ECNL is accepted, it is not a viable alternative.

Even if we don't know where we are playing next year, it will be better than your league or tournaments.

Funny another Stars parent just told me the same thing.

Had few already have you? The Stars will do that to you.
