What's up with Diego? The guys barely gets playing time this year and is then ejected in the 36th minute from this game. I hope he's revisiting his high school and thinking about the value of a diploma…...

While realizing that our opinions mean nothing, I would have thought he would be better off staying in the youth system and working on strength and conditioning while playing up. Nevertheless, now that he is a pro, I do think that he should look into the playing abroad and/or finding a team that he might be able to get some more substantial playtime.

The Revs have clearly demonstrated that despite changing about 85% of the starting roster, Diego was not in that new mix.

Seen him as a sub in one game recently, and he wasn't much of a presence up top. The Revs tend to isolate the guys up top - the midfield is not a big factor - and Diego isn't the physical presence necessary to be a target man. So, if Revs are going to play that way, Diego should be doing something else to move his career forward

The kid seems a tad slow of foot.

When he looked good last year, he was on the ball where he didn't appear to lose any speed (vs. when not having the ball) and has good vision ... Without the ball, he tends to disappear. When the opponents have the ball, the kid doesn't seem to be in the right spot or have the speed to pressure opposing defenders.

His teammates don't seem to be able or willing to pass him the ball - I wonder what if anything is going on with the team dynamics.

In the recent game I watched, he came in with Revs up 1:0, and as you say, did not pressure the back line vigorously enough.. and that contributed to the tying goal.. and he wasn't fast enough to be the counter threat they needed to take off the pressure.. Diego is good in a group up top, where his passing and nimble moves can outwit a defense. He doesn't have the physical presence to be a threat when all alone.

The presence of Diego on the Revolution last year was nothing more than a PR stunt to stimulate ticket sales. MLS learned nothing from the Freddie Adu debacle of years ago and will continue to allow immature players to be exploited as a boost to revenue. Very few players at that age are capable of the physical demands of the professional game no matter how good they may be within their own age demographic. Shameless at best, damaging at worst...

We should not get so negative on the boy. I suspect he still has the skills that got him to where he is. He does lack size, which any good team could and should work on.

On a more important note, is that I believe what the last several posters are witnessing is what happens when you are not getting good and consistent playtime. You start to lose the sharpness.

For what it is worth, I do think that part of the Revs bringing him up was a bit of PR. He is very good, but without playing on the field he will not only not get better, but will continue to lose his edge. I do think a trade to a needy team or a trip abroad would be of benefit.

Rev defense - or lack thereof.

Diego focus aside for a minute.

IN what world does a professional soccer team have trouble holding a three goal lead for 11 minutes? This is insane. The revs can drop behind the ball and defend to close a game out? really? this is indicative of a large problem.....systematic, people, process.....I mean really....how hard is it to shut it down for a little more than ten minutes????

Defense is a system plus hard work and focus. nothing rocket science required here. and I won't even go there on opponent level (low) because they should be able to close it out against almost anyone.

agree..a.nd it was not because they were playing a man down. One goal was from a 20 yard drive, the other two were garbage collector goals in the box after set plays. Revs have a great attack squad. Defense is still lacking..

Lets cut to the chase. This is not a very talented team. Kraft needs to spend some money and bring in some players

These are the types of tackles he was notorious for in club. Not surprised at all to see him playing this way. He has a low threshold for frustration. That's what being a superstar will do for ya.

Matt Reis is playing on reputation only now.

Charlie Joseph needs to be riding a Segway to play faster only reason he's here is to sell tickets.

All the talk about ball posession and the Revs still play long ball.

We don't have a legit central defender, central mid fielder or dominate striker.

People we are what we are IMO.

It's obvious you have not watched a recent Revs game

It's obvious you don't understand what it takes to win.
