    Nope....I predicted a 2-0 Blazer win....I was wrong....it was 4-0.

Now here is the next question; Who will be selected to play in Region 1 Premier league next year? This NEFC team won the Region 1 Premier league but followed with an awful Spring thereafter. The Stars U15 team won the Sub-Region. The Blazers won the State Cup....essentially beating them all.

So who goes from Massachusetts?? 1, 2, or 3 teams. NEFC and Stars supposedly have automatic bids.

I say it's Blazers. They got the state cup win. No doubt.

There are 12 teams already automatically slotted into the Region 1 Premier league for 2013.

2 from MA (NEFC, Stars), 2 from NYE (Manhattan, Smithtown), 2 from VA (Herndon, Arlington), 2 from PAE (Lehigh Valley, Lower Merion), 1 from NJ (UFA), 1 from MD (Magic), 1 from NYW (Doug Miller), 1 from PAW (Century)

There are 7 states not represented: NH, ME, VT, CT, WV, RI, DE

So, there are 11 Region 1 areas with 1 or fewer teams. Do you think they are going to take a 3rd MA team to fill one of the openings? If anyone gets a 3rd, it will be NYE. The Lancers actually beat Blazers and finished ahead of them in Region 1 league. My guess is that NJ gets a 2nd team, NH gets a team (finished ahead of Blazers in Region 1 league and were 2-1, just like Blazers, at Region 1 Championships), NYE gets another team, and PAW gets a 2nd team.

That is a shame. NEFC will lose some players to DAP. While I don't know what the Stars will be like, I do know that the Blazers are going to remain intact plus a much better goalie. Unless otherwise, the Blazers will just have to win the State Cup again, which should not be too difficult to do.

Not too difficult to do? Then you don't really know what goes into this type of season. You may have the skill, talent and manpower but there's always a little bit of luck and magic needed. Some years you have it and some years you don't. To say it should be easy is naive. Just look at MPS Bulldogs in the u17 category - on paper they should have been coasting through the season and had little competition at state cup. They didn't even make it past the round robins. Magic and luck.

Hope you are not going to Foxwoods tonight.
