I dont think you'll see much movement this spring but the season after. I hope the parents and players I've talked to have a change of heart but it will take alot for that to happen. I hope this guy has his act together for your sake.

Keep your ear to the ground and options open.

Would you guys leave this pure guy alone? He is a young coach. This is is meant by scorpions eating their young. Someone from the inside keeps posting this crap about the young coach, or the "backup keeper" or whoever they think they can write about to cause a hullabaloo.

      Grow up!

He really doesnt need any 'defending'. He and the team are perfectly fine. Any loser can post any innuendo they want in here. It doesnt mean anything.

I agree with this post. I think the team will be decided by R1 play. They could face Stars, Albertson, Real NJ and the like. This is a grueling schedule. If they have a poor season I believe several players will leave. They did well last year in R1 but I am sure they are not satisfied being mid pack. This is a team that was "the team" from U11 and U12 only to be supplanted by Stars. Most of the team has been together for several years and has come up as a group, so I think if one or two leave others will follow. While they are still competitive with Stars they are obviously second best in the state now. They are still an excellent team, but second best in state and not a real regional power. I am not certain this is enough for some of the talented kids on this team.

Folks.. you need to calm down and make every effort to keep your team intact. You have got a good number of years before the quality of the TEAM matters. At the stage you are at, winning for winning sake is foolish. If you are hoping for your kid to move to a higher level you should focus on the level of competition they are playing against and your kid's personal improvemet relative to it. If they stand out there will always be options available to them but if they are not a stud you may find the grass is not always greener somewhere else. What you may not realize is that if the team implodes you may end up on the outside looking in when your kid needs to be on a top ranked team to get the exposure they will need to college coaches. Take a look at the top current U17 teams. There is so much demand for a spot on these teams that at this stage they cherry pick and only bring the best players available on to their roster. I personally know dozens of "starting level" kids that have ended up playing in Needham over Memorial Day instead of PDA simply because the team they were on wasn't good enough to get them there. Just ask the former Scorps U17's how things worked out when their team imploded. A bunch of them went to the Crusaders and though I don't know for certain, I don't think they ended up getting anywhere near the exposure with them that would have gotten with the Scorps if they had stayed in tact. Be careful what you wish for.

Aren't they talking about the U16 Elite team? They would be U17 next year.
