Hot Stove Action

Being the hot stove season, I figured I would start a centralized thread to track player movement during the off-season. Some has already been reported in another thread with Lady Strikers moving to Scorps. Also, I do recall there being some earlier posts assurring that players were leaving the Scorps U13 team which would mean that spots would have opened up that needed to be filled. Where did the players go and how did they fill the spots?

What about other clubs/ages? How is all of the predicted player movement?

SF Viknings U18 teams are in trouble. B team coach left over the summer and no players on that team but still listed on MAPLE fo 09. A team only has 9 players listed with 1 player with a torn ACL. U17 team had at least 1 player moving to Aztecs and others left also but not sure where.

Vikings lost many players and not looking good for long term growth on the North Shore.

Press Release: GotSoccer ends relationship with US Club Soccer

GotSoccer and US Club Soccer have mutually agreed to end their five year relationship. The impact on teams will be felt most when it comes to US Club Soccer regional and national championships. Going forward GotSoccer will rank these events as any other tournament. They will not be given equal standings with USYSA regional and national events. "We have always been uncomfortable with the pay-in versus play-in policy for qualification to US Club Soccer regional events. Going forward any USSF affiliate must conform to the qualification standards used by USYSA. That is, state championships used as qualifying events for regional championships," said Gavin Owen-Thomas of GotSoccer. GotSoccer didnt respect their own formula for the absurd number of points being awarded to suspect events. Ouch MPS.

Will the Bolts be able to field teams at U15, U16 and U18?

U16s are questionable. I do not know the answer there or for the 18s.U15s will field a team although they will be very weak. Three quality players just can't do the job of 11.Club should officially be a boys only club soon.

Teams that are relegated, esp those relegated to MASC tend to be prime sources of players making moves.

Shouldnt happen regardless unless you are playing for elite level.
