How does the NEP Divisions Work Out?

How do the divisions in NEP work out for the boys side? How many divisions are there?

And under the schedule, what's the difference between Boys Premier and Boys Championship?

The number of divisions varies according the the number of teams the member clubs have in each age group. Premier divisions are the top divisions and championship divisions are the lower divisions.

Directors of coaching get together before the season and decide where each team should play. Clubs determine the appropriate level for their teams.

What division are teams like the Bolts or MPS in? Premier division?

Go check out the website at nepremiership.com. You can see that Bolts and MPS have some teams in Premier division and some teams in Championship division.

If you were to look at the website you will notice that on the boys sides the younger Bolts teams have one or two teams in u10, u11, and u12. For each of these age groups the Bolts have 1 team in the top division and, if there is a second, another in the next division. At u13, u14, u16, u17 the Bolts have a team in the second division. At u18 there is one division. At u13 though u17, the Bolts also have PreAcademy and Academy teams. These are their more competitive teams (although the u13 and u14 PreAcademy teams are not fairing so well).
The women Bolts have about 7 teams in the NEP and they are mostly in the second divisions. Although no teams are in the first division, the Bolts women's program has flourished this year and has gotten significantly better since the transition of DOCs. At the end of the Kerr era, the women's program was essentially dead.
These numbers do not include the Bayside Bolts or Londonderry Bolts.

MPS has so many freaking teams at every age group that they seem to fit into every division within each age group. Amazingly, the teams are consistently decent and well trained.

So if a team is in a division for season 1 and they lose alot or aren't as competitive as they could be, the coaches will move them to a more appropriate place for the following season. Sounds good. Thank you.

Yes, it's a nicer way to say "relegation"

I thought the Bolts were good for U17 boys but it seems that they're in the "lower" division (Premier Division). Why is that?

Because their better boys players are in the DAP and don't play NEP.

Also, the best Bolts U17's who don't do the DAP play up in their U18 team.
