Amazing what some will do for a buck, isn't it? All that time and effort for a photo that looks like an every day swimsuit. So why would you want to stand there naked why a total stranger applies paint to your private parts if in the end it looks like a swimsuit that would take just seconds to put on?
But why is this a problem for YOU? The person being paid to appear in SI is choosing this way to make money and promote their brand. I suspect her Q rating is through the roof and she is getting many more appearances and mentions than she would have otherwise.

I understand that it would make you uncomfortable to be naked in front of the artist, but she didn't have a problem with it. Isn't that what's important? Who are you to substitute your morality for hers?

Using your logic, If I were boss of the world I would outlaw salesmen (and women), because there is nothing in this world that makes me more uncomfortable than cold calling. I'm sure we all have things that make us violently uncomfortable.

It's not a problem for me as much as it is a problem for female athletes who want their athletic abilities taken seriously.

How come none of the male athletes (aside from the full monty affect) shown in paint?

Interesting too that the tone of the pictures with Bar Rafeali are a whole lot different with the white boys then with Chris Paul. Might be some underlying racism in addition to sexism at SI.

The male athletes probably aren't shown in body paint because of the latent homosexual undertones and the fact the the paint really can't cover the parts that aren't allowed to be shown in the mainstream media.

What does appearing in a magazine have to do with being taken serious on the field?

The kind of men who call women whores for stepping "out of line" are married to the kind of women who call women whores. Idiots tend to marry each other.

Man, do we have to go through how many pages of discussion again???

Nobody cares about women's soccer or their players unless they sell the sport through sex. That gets the attention of men. It still doesn't draw women, in fact it may send them in the opposite direction.
