Vikings will stir the Pot in Manhattan and most likely get to play the top tier teams based on their 2011 performance. The other teams I hope make some noise as well. This is a great pre-season warm up for any team Heading down to Manhattan. GO MA!!

To the OP: The trip to Manhattan would be a fun start for you and your kids....then again for all we know your kids may be in this tournament already.

        Thanks

OP here. Thanks again for all your suggestions. We will be at the Manhattan tournament although I would only be able to check out some of the older MA teams as the youngest team participating is U12 (I have two boys- a U10 who plays U11 and a U12 who plays U13). I'm still in the process of finalizing the job offer so I don't want to make the trip to MA until I have the job.

OK, "different poster", here's another hint: "If you're sticking around because you think your son will have an "in" for academy because he's been a "loyal" lemming, you're in for a rude surprise" is not a neutral statement. It's sour grapes. Wonder why they left? Oh, that's right, it was the terrible training. Hmmm. No reading comprehension issues here, thank you.

Several kids have left Bolts in the younger age groups (including my son, who was a top player in the U10 group two years ago (so no, he was not rejected by the Bolts and would have easily made the A team the following year) because their parents noticed that the training was much better at other clubs. I know of several good players that joined clubs like Hammer, MPS, Valeo and yes even Blazers (DC) for the better training. I know this because I know their parents well and I can tell you this - they have no regrets; the training they got at these clubs was much better. You can stay with your Almighty Bolts but your son is probably getting mediocre training- tell you what- why don't you visit a couple of the clubs mentioned above and watch their elite teams train, then come back and open your mouth- otherwise, you're just spouting lemming drivel.

If you can, I would suggest watch as many different clubs from Mass that are attending and if interested just approach the coach. I'll be there with my son's U12 NEFC team. Looking forward to getting outside on the pitch and watching some good soccer.

A nationally licensed coach here (no lies) with a pertinent question: just, what exactly constitutes "good training" in your esteemed opinions? Please elucidate all of us at Bolts, MPS, NEFC, Hamlets, (especially)Blazers, and even some smaller clubs who work quite diligently at providing education for your child. There are an incredible amount of know-it-alls who know nothing ready to spout their rubbish and BS. Please go have these discussions with the Mass state legislature where all the other know-it-alls seem to reside. TIA.

Hey, I know you, I know how much free time you have to to spend on TS. Your kid is not as good as you think and your opinions are about as useful as a size 3 soccer ball with a pinhole in it.

For your intended location, seems that closest options are Ac Milan, Arlington, Blazers, Bolts, MPS and Valeo. These are all well established clubs, suggesting that enough families have been pleased with the experience with them. If you have a preference for a larger club, you could narrow further to Bolts or MPS for a tryout. If you prefer smaller, you could narrow it to the others for your next step. You'll make a good decision no matter what, and if you don't over-commit, you can always change to another team if your son makes a friend at school and wants to play on the same team as his friend, or something like that.

CB's NEFC U10 & U11's are very good! He has done well with developing teams from U10-U14! His last group he coached was quality and now are being coached by Ed Kelly from BC!

You have your hands full OP. Like I said in prior posts Manhattan is a great warm up for region 1 teams and for you as well to get a look before coming up to have your kids participate in some practices so they can pick who they had the most fun with while you focus on the coaching side. Good Luck in Manhattan

If you know me, could you say this to me in person? Right. Thought so.
