Certainly the injunction raises it to the level of a "legal matter". But Hazing is also a crime, and it can carry serious consequences if convicted. My guess is that the School Department has established some formal guidelines and policies regarding its enforcement of an internal hazing rule. I would also assume that those rules provide some due process protections for students accused of (but not yet found responsible for) a hazing violation. If the school's principal failed to follow those rules, then an injunction might be appropriate. Right now, there is limited information about exactly what happened. The Statute regarding the crime of hazing is very serious, but also not all inclusive of behavior and activities that are innapropriate. My advice is that people wait to let this play out and show some restraint.
