Just more people who feel that high school soccer is insignificant in the bigger scheme of things.

To the original point. High school soccer is somewhat insignificant in soccer terms, but not in terms of learning values such as putting school and team before yourself. Top college programs aren't going to care much about the soccer a prospect plays in high school. They will care about the soccer they play at the club level. However, the top college programs will be interested in how players conduct themselves with their high school teams. College coaches are looking for players who can be leaders on and off the field. That are reliable and will not upset the team chemistry. There are a lot more distractions for college level players, so a college coach is going to be looking for players who are self motivated and self disciplined. Can you imagine the players on the BC women's team deciding they should skip classes and go out partying because they just beat Northeastern in the NCAA tournament?

Is the game Wednesday? Why would it be scheduled the same day as a such a big playoff game?

These would be one of the qualities that define the top players and all the also rans. Talent and athleticism can get you only so far. At the top of the pyramid it is the personality of the athletes that separates the best from the rest. Read anything Steve Nicol or Bill Belichek have been quoted on when they look at players.

Or Anson Dorrance which might be more to the point.

Hardly if you view Dorrance from the perspective of what college coaches are looking for in terms of the type of players they look to select. However, I suspect those that ought to read it (aka Millbury parents), won't.

Guess you'll have to wait till tomorrow night for the list and it does seem rather poor planning. Last year Weymouth B & G and Framingham Boys missed the game because of a tournament game. This year just the Weymouth girls but that should be at least 5 or 6 player going by how many Needham has on the team.

anyone know who is in line for the Newton North girls varsity job? Today's paper reports that coach Rooney is stepping down.

It wasn't all Framingham that Scored another team player headed the ball in. Not sure what team. In all fairness it was freezing and the kids were pretty bundled up and the goalies probably had frost bite
