I am not a regular hockey fan, but of course I watched the Bruins move through the plays offs and win the Stanley Cup. I swear I had hockey players in the room with me who didn't react until the Bruins players reacted to a goal sometimes. It is really, really hard to follow that puck. I think they should make it neon orange or something. You've got to admit, a soccer ball does not suffer from the same low profile issues.

No, it's worse because soccer appears to be an easy sport to master intellectually. Clueless dads watch EPL and clueless moms watch WPS, therefor they are 'experts' and know as much as the coach. In fact, they know so much, they are helping their sons/daughters' team with their brilliant advice from the sidelines.

The key word here is - soccer "appears" to be an easy sport to master intellectually. That appearance, in conjunction with the appearance of some kids' early physical development being mistaken for actual soccer talent, leads some parents to know their 8-14 year old is a star.
