NEFC may struggle at the regional level. Looks like NY and VA are putting on the best show for region 1 at disney, although Seacoast United looks good, but they are in a pretty low bracket. What's up with Hockessin Blast from Deleware? Not very strong this year? CT teams also mixed.

why is seacoast in the Copa bracket? A state champion and they end up in the third tier? They are crushing their opponents while other region 1 teams like NEFC, ISA Sting, and Yankee United Strikers are slugging it out in the higher level brackets. Just seems odd.

for the u16g anyway, you have two paper tigers from region1 competing--NEFC and Bayside. Both got a lot of ranking points from a single event, but if you look closely, these are teams that are probably way out of their league. Hope they prove me wrong, but I would be surprised to see these teams do well this weekend. NEFC might have better luck in the region 1 northeast league, but even there, the NY teams will brobably run them to ground pretty quick.

I think R1PL and NERL are state cup-qualifying leagues.

If you mean that boys teams could beat the girls... well, obviously you are 100% correct. That is a no-brainer! However, from a comparison standpoint, the girls are far better than the boys. From which I mean that the best youth girls teams include some of the best players in the country, and really the world. Massachusetts boys youth soccer is of comparably poor quality (not even mediocre!!).

Here is a really unfortunate reality for the OP: your son is at best a mediocre athlete, incapable of competing with the best of the US in sports like football and basketball. If those kids sought out soccer as an alternative when they were young (and played street ball the way they play basketball) your little Landon would be playing town soccer. OMG did I just write that????

The girls U18 WNT just played. Only one MA girl on the list, and she didn't play. Good for her making the team, but where are the bevy of national and world class MA girls. A lot of CA, Midwest, Western, and South Atlantic girls, but almost no NE girls, same as the boys. BTW, congrats to SM. Players like her in MA are rare but appreciated.

If you look at all the National Team rosters, including U23 down through U15, 4 men list their home town in Mass, and 4 women. Sounds pretty even to me.
