    True or false?

you are more likely to see kids from lower socio-economic situations playing boys soccer than girls soccer. Is girls soccer more for the "rich" kids and boys soccer for just about "anyone"?

Likely true. However, it may be, in part, that the soccer traditions of certain immigrant communities do not include women's soccer.

I prefer to think of them as "people", regardless of where they live, or how they live, or where their ancestors came from..

That's obviously a foreign concept to many of you.

Agree. You won't see black female players playing soccer unless the parents are middle class or above. Our team would love to have some inner city black female athletes but unfortuanely this sport is for the rich only.

With the success of the Brazilian WNT, are there more Brazilian young women playing soccer in the US (or Framingham)?

i think the point they were making - however crass it sounded - was whether the best minority female players come from well off families too. Is the best coaching, best club correlated to the best money can buy? I think what keeps kids separated from a soccer standpoint is financial, few kids from poor areas become "elite players" in america, there are exceptions, but travel youth soccer is exclusive for the midlle class and up.
