Overall I thought Select was pretty reckless as a team that day and it most certainly was not just one player like some of you are trying to insinuate. My primary complaint was that the team as a whole played on the edge and I felt the coach should have reeled them in. As I remember it there were a couple of pretty cheap shots in the game. The thing is while I do remember a reckless slide tackle by the player being talked about I don't remember any cheap shots. Please don't try to infer that I had a problem with that specific player because I didn't.

I'm an NEFC parent and I don't remember any of us ranting about the player last year. To be honest, I don't even remember playing SSS last year. I'm on the side lines and I check in on T-S quite frequently and I just didn't see it. If I missed it and someone did rant about it, then so be it, it's just human nature anyway.
Let me provide a somewhat more neutral opinion on what happened. I'm going to be as unbiased as possible in an effort to shut everyone up about this.
The player - Yes, she is very physical. Most of the time it's appropriate. Sometimes it's reckless. She doesn't mean it and she will have to learn to reel in her physicality or it's going to have an impact on her, the team or another player. In the SW game, of the 2 fouls that were the most visible, I thought the slide tackle was reckless and I would have carded her. The collision over the header was less reckless, but still a foul. There was no intent to injure in either case.
The incident where NEFC player was hurt - There was no intent to injure from either side. It was a 50/50 ball and 2 players went for it. The NEFC player ended up getting kicked and came down on her foot the wrong way. Unfortunate, but I really didn't see anything nasty from either side.
The SW parent - She needs to grow up and be more professional on the sidelines. I have no tolerance for what she said. I know that because I heard one of our parents say similar things in a game against the Pioneers. I thought that was pretty crappy too and spoke to her. Our parent apologized to the coach and has been "good" ever since
I'm not going to comment on the elbows to the kidneys of the NEFC player. I don't know enough about it.
Can we let this die out now?
How is the player? Is she recovering well?

I can't guarantee anything - other than that the team and their coach would NEVER intentially set out to hurt anyone to win. Unlike the Stars team, who were coached to "RESPOND" and seriusly hurt an NEFC player. I am shocked nothing was done to reprimand this coach.

No doubt, the Stars and other teams are all out to beat the Champs. We can expect there to be some intensity on the part of the coaches, players and parents of the opposition. But to trash this team based on a single game, and one player, is wrong. There is no history of this and I am certain it won't happen again. They play to win, but don't need to hurt anyone to win. I'd be surprised to learn of any significant or numerous injuries to opposing players from the past season. The entire NEFC is a class act and an excellent organization.

These are a fantastic group of girls, excellent coach, close, caring parents, all who have committed a tremendous amount of time, money and energy to become the best. To my knowledge, there have been no serious complaints of anyone on the team or related to the team. This injured player is new, and while her injuries are unfortunate, it is not right to speak negatively of this incredible team and supportive, passionate, but respectful parents because of this incident with a new player (who is just GOOD, and yes, physically stronger and bigger than most).
