You folks kill me, it’s time to step off your pillars of righteousness and give this lady a break. I've been to enough games of different teams to know that there are a lot of you that should be ashamed of the stuff you spew on the sidelines. Give it a rest.

That's exactly the point. This sort of crap shouldn't be tolerated, or dismissed as something that we've all done.

Yes we are all part of the problem, but we should also be the solution. We need to stop our peers from this behavior. Don't just bash the opposing parents when they act like asses. Bash the parents on your team too. Tell them to grow up, give them a lollypop to stick in their mouths, whatever it takes.

          Stop the madness!

              Get into a positive situation

Our daughter played D-1 Maple for 3 seasons and moved when told the team was going to NEP and possibly playing Sunday matches in New Hampshire. Now she plays for a very good D-3 Maple team who is in great position to go D-2 for 2012. For anyone who wants to stay in this, at times, incredibly negative-win at all costs environment...I suggest you re-think why you have your child in youth sports. Sometimes we all just continue on with what we're used to.

We're enjoying the matches so much more, it's literally been night and day. She doesn't go through anywhere near the injury icings and bruises and she has a GREAT COACH (yes a full time paid professional with 15 plus years experience). The guy's a gentleman who genuinely tries to keep the score down against weaker opponents and gets the subs more playing time against similar teams. Parents here root for the team and not only their own children...very refreshing and while she loved many parts of the D-1 experience, in our case the grass has been greener on the other side of the fence. There is obviously a drop off in the skill level of some of the players but there are far more good soccer players than we were led to believe we'd see. The team has 4 kids who played D-1 last season and two were heavily recruited by the "big clubs". These situations DO exist out there and if you're tired of this type of behavior go talk to some of the other clubs in your area. (We used to drive 15 min to practice, now its 50 min and has been worth every single minute of it).

                State Champions Team...yes?

I'd like to point out that this NEFC team are 2011 State Champions. They didn't get there by being vicious, overly physical or unsportsmanlike. These are a fantastic group of girls, excellent coach, close, caring parents, all who have committed a tremendous amount of time, money and energy to become the best. To my knowledge, there have been no serious complaints of anyone on the team or related to the team. This injured player is new, and while her injuries are unfortunate, it is not right to speak negatively of this incredible team and supportive, passionate, but respectful parents because of this incident with a new player (who is just GOOD, and yes, physically stronger and bigger than most).

No doubt, the Stars and other teams are all out to beat the Champs. We can expect there to be some intensity on the part of the coaches, players and parents of the opposition. But to trash this team based on a single game, and one player, is wrong. There is no history of this and I am certain it won't happen again. They play to win, but don't need to hurt anyone to win. I'd be surprised to learn of any significant or numerous injuries to opposing players from the past season. The entire NEFC is a class act and an excellent organization.

The fact still remains ... when this player played against your team last year, you had a vastly different opinion of her style of play.

Lets face it...you all got caught out . The parent who started this thread must have not known about or have forgotten about the rant last spring. This is not about the NEFC team, so stop trying to deflect the topic. Just admit that now that the player is on your team, its OK if she is "physical".

Ugh, it's amazing how long people can keep something like this alive by just posting the same crap over and over. I'm an NEFC parent and I don't remember any of us ranting about the player last year. To be honest, I don't even remember playing SSS last year. I'm on the side lines and I check in on T-S quite frequently and I just didn't see it. If I missed it and someone did rant about it, then so be it, it's just human nature anyway.

Let me provide a somewhat more neutral opinion on what happened. I'm going to be as unbiased as possible in an effort to shut everyone up about this.

The player - Yes, she is very physical. Most of the time it's appropriate. Sometimes it's reckless. She doesn't mean it and she will have to learn to reel in her physicality or it's going to have an impact on her, the team or another player. In the SW game, of the 2 fouls that were the most visible, I thought the slide tackle was reckless and I would have carded her. The collision over the header was less reckless, but still a foul. There was no intent to injure in either case.

The incident where NEFC player was hurt - There was no intent to injure from either side. It was a 50/50 ball and 2 players went for it. The NEFC player ended up getting kicked and came down on her foot the wrong way. Unfortunate, but I really didn't see anything nasty from either side.

The SW parent - She needs to grow up and be more professional on the sidelines. I have no tolerance for what she said. I know that because I heard one of our parents say similar things in a game against the Pioneers. I thought that was pretty crappy too and spoke to her. Our parent apologized to the coach and has been "good" ever since

I'm not going to comment on the elbows to the kidneys of the NEFC player. I don't know enough about it.

Can we let this die out now?

a voice of reason. i don't believe it. funny, that's basically how the incident(s) were described to me but someone wants to make it bigger than it is. it should have been only about the ranting of the parent.

Maybe you should ask BTDT. He was frequently on the now removed thread where these accusations were made. He also knew of the injured girls who were at odp. Just let's stop the revisionist history.

I'd like to point out that certain parents and the coach were actively trying to replace 1/3 of this team with players from odp. Let's not pretend that that didn't happen. The player they did get is a very physical player and was criticized widely on this forum last spring to the point where people threatened to videotape and post videos. Let's just tone down the hypocrisy that emanates from NEFC. By the way I think you'll repeat as state cup champions I just don't like the propaganda.

Putting words in my mouth again. I thought that our game last year against Select got very chippy towards the end largely because we blew them out. Overall I thought Select was pretty reckless as a team that day and it most certainly was not just one player like some of you are trying to insinuate. My primary complaint was that the team as a whole played on the edge and I felt the coach should have reeled them in. As I remember it there were a couple of pretty cheap shots in the game. The thing is while I do remember a reckless slide tackle by the player being talked about I don't remember any cheap shots. Please don't try to infer that I had a problem with that specific player because I didn't.
