No parent should be shouting anything from the sideline that teters on the edge hoping a child is hurt or gets hurt . If you can't do that , you should be removed from the field . It's pretty simple .

The ref should have control of the game . If need be a coach should question the referee or make him or her aware of the problem .

I know many parents think these girls are playing with intent to hurt . That is simply not the truth . They are playing to win .

We have played NEFC in the past and have never had any problems with their players , coaches or parents . CH is a class act . This is a simple tale of two teams that don't match up and one of the teams became very frustrated when they couldn't put the ball in the net . West has everything to prove right now and it doesn't look good from here .

If RL was as you all say( RESPOND) He should be fired right away . We are not all stupid and we no what he means .

I am not bashing the Stars I am bashing this one lady, and I am saying that any of you that justify her emotional response are just as bad.

I don't have a bias. I think sportsmanship is what we ought to strive for, and if no foul was called, then we "pull up our skirts" and play on. Parents don't get to call the fouls, the ref does.

A coach that yells "respond" about a physical game should be questioned about his intent. I would be concerned about the message he is sending to the girls. Once again every time little Abby falls, is not a foul. It looked to me like the Stars were being muscled off of the ball, and were getting more and more frustrated, the coach in his utter frustration, yells "respond", and his players cause a girl's leg to be broken, and as a parting shot a parent heckles an injured player.
i do think you're correct in bashing this woman. at least she had the decency to apologize. she still though should be barred from the sidelines for the rest of the year. as far as questioning the coach, may you do have a bias. how many time have you parents told your kid 'if a kid pushes you got to push back'? i know I have. the coach could be just saying that. can anyone enlighten us? has he been accused of this behavior before? i'm talking about this specific behavior not any other baggage he may have.

Your insistence that your player did NOTHING wrong is telling. Regardless, a strong, aggressive player is out for the season, which is a huge lose to her team and a heartbreaker for her.
And you must be the little pixie's mom. Heard you screaming about the shielding. Believe it or not that is not a foul. In fact as you go further up the food chain, how that girl plays the game is exctly how a center striker is expected to play so your daughter had better learn how to work against that because she ate her alive.

I'm howling right now! I swear you girl moms are totally crazed. No, I am not the mom of a pixie, all boys here but stumbled onto this insane thread. I'm trying to imagine the boy equivalent of this nasty idiocy and I just can't come up with it. Maybe the butting and snorting over the Academy programs? I think this is worse. Judging from your posts, that player probably did get exactly what she deserved. What goes round comes round. Too bad. I am SO glad I have boys!!

Wow. All that I can say is that Mom you just made all of us glad we don't have boys. Nobody deserves to get hurt? What an idiot.

FIFA sets rules for a reason. Refs should learn to follow the rules, not interpret them based on home field, favored team, or my personal favorite...allowing the losing team to get away with stuff because they are being soundly beaten.

I don't care what the score is, and what uniform players are wearing, refs need to be better at their jobs and parents need to shut the heck up.

Normally not, of course, but the daughters of you vicious she demons? You crazed, multi banned Gu14 parental nut cases? You who accuse coaches of commanding their players to break legs and tell the pixies to run for cover or they'll be taken out? Oh I think you all sound like mothers who would be more than capable of raising little Broomhildas of the soccer field, Amazons ready for blood -- chaaaarrrrrgggeee!!!

You people are just a mess. Honestly. Grow up.

I'm glad this was in the low pressure NEP. If this had happened in maple who knows how crazy this could have become. Thank you NEP.

Actually plenty of overly aggressive players deserve to get hurt. Mostly they just hurt other people. Just part of competitive sports at any age.

Ok setting the record strait .I was seated between the mother & stars coach & heard every word . what is translated hear has been watered down . First incident 50/50 smaller player went down (friend of my daughters) her mom justfiably upset no big deal . Second incident two players going up to head stars player gets hurt . Parents upset at the comon denominator . Coach yells "you answer back NOW " poor choise of words ! none one can know what he ment but him . Then there comes the ugly slide tackle . No one likes to see theese & they draw a big reaction but i dont think it was intended to injure. Then came the bad one .the play looked fairly clean & it was the landing that was the problem . However the largest offence came when some parent yeld "thats what she gets " disgusting ! West please reign in this parent before you are all condemned by association !

Why was the Stars coach sitting on the same side as the parents (with the parents)

Stadium seating, so everyone sat on the same side, and that mother never said that's what she gets. This thread has gotten way out of control, and with every post more fabrications. There are three sides to every story, and the truth is somewhere in the middle. Let's all be adults and try to learn from this, and move on.

No matter how you slice it. "Answer back now" is not appropriate in a U14 game. Contrary to what some what seem to want to paint, this was nothing like the BYU v New Mexico game. What you had was players playing full out and yes you had players banging. Nothing dirty. It seemed to me things were actually quite even in the pushing and shoving category until the mother in the stands started to sound off. You could feel the tension of the game just ratchet right up after that. The West coach fed right into that emotion and responded in a very poor way. None the less, there is nothing to be gained from pounding bully pulpit so can we all chalk it up to a unfortunate incident and move on?
