Just curious...who did the Bolts send to residency and when was that?
Pro players and when?
Charlie Davies DC United/FC Sochaux (Ligue 1) Boston College
Jay Heaps N/A US Men’s National Team/New England Revolution/Duke University
Sheannon Williams Philadelphia Union (MLS) Harrisburg City Islanders/U17 MNT
Mike Fucito Seattle Sounders (MLS)
Chris Tierney New England Revolution (MLS)
Mike Videira Chicago Fire (MLS) New England Revolution/U17 & U20 MNT
William Packwood Birmingham City (England) U17 Men’s National Team
Sam Brill Austin Aztex (USSF Division 2)
How many have gone pro from the Revs?? One?? .....and he is doing so well!!!
OK...I see you point. You want to know how many players have gone in the last 12 months. The Revs have one (they took their own) and the Bolts have none.
If you want to talk about facts in numbers then you need to be aware of statistics. Statistically, 1 vs. 0 is not significant. In fact, 3 vs. 0 would also be insignificant. If the Revs had 5 or more, you can start to speak, however you would have to present confidence intervals with it.
The same would be true regarding national team players.
Do you have any other shoot-from-the-hip statements??

davies, fucito, tierney, videira, and brill all played on the same bolts team. WOW
Should the Bolts get credit for their development or their recruitment? Not just these players, but all the players listed. How many of these players were in the Bolts program since day 1?

Can we please stop with this tired old way of thinking. I've known most of the players listed above, and they went to the Bolts on their own. Just because players go to a club, you assume that they were recruited. John Kerr did not recruit. But if you called him and talked to him about coming to the Bolts, he would listen. They wanted to play in the competitions the Bolts played in, and they wanted the exposure of a nationally recognized club. And at the time, the Bolts were the only club that could give them that.
All those guys went to and/or stayed with the Bolts when they were the top of the heap in the Kerr era. That isn't the landscape anymore, and the talent is at least divided, but probably mostly over at the Revs. Everybody knows that - US Soccer knows that..

John Kerr would never get his hands dirty recruiting players, that would be for others to do. Your point, however, about players wanting the opportunity to play at the highest levels and John Kerr and the Bolts being the only club in town at that time that could offer that level of exposure is spot on. Back then, the Bolts was an easy choice for the most ambitious players.
Times have changed however. BA isn't John Kerr and the Revs give players and families an alternative the Bolts of 5+ years ago didn't have to compete with.

You're claiming Packwood? How many years ago did he leave, and he's only 18?
We're 6 pages into this "evaluation" of DAP in MA and still no college outcome results from Revs or Bolts from 2011.

You can't have it both ways. You can't claim superiority for the Revs in this realm but not given the Bolts the same rules. How many of the Revs players who played pro were developed by the Revs? How about any of the other Revs players? How many of them were there since U10?? Of course the answer is NONE because the Revs have only the two teams and have not really developed anything.......recruit-yes.....develop-no. If you aren't going to credit the Bolts with those players listed, then the Revs should not take credit for DF or any other of their players. In fact.....does it really count if the Revs make their own DAP player a Pro? Maybe this is just for advertising. I don't think DF has done much since his first outing. Many feel he should have gone overseas. Just as an aside, is DF on the Men's National team?? .....any of them??
Face it, the only thing that the Revs have over the Bolts is the cost......free is free. After that, there is some consideration that development is better with the Bolts.

Not really. Whatthe Revs do, the Bolts also do. There are only two differences:
1) The cost, as the Revs are free
2) The lomg standing jealous parents who feel the need to trash-talk the Bolts at every opportunity.

He played for the Bolts from U13-U15, and left when he moved to England. Would you like to criticize him for making that decision? After all, he should do what's best for you, right?
If you want college outcomes for any player, no matter where they are from or how old they are, go to the web sites of the colleges and take a look for yourself. The information is there, in the public domain, easy to find. Your disdain for the DAP is obvious. You've become a tired, old, outdated, bitter cartoon character.

No criticism of WP at all. I'm sure he's an outstanding kid and he's a great story. I'm laughing at you for including him as a Bolts grad success. That's going back a ways. You forgot to credit Inter and ODP. Let me ask you this, because your replies are always cartoonish in a mean sort of way. If the Bolts' (or Revs') recent college placement results were really good do you think we would have heard about it or being able to find something on the Bolts website??? Exactly.

no need to always come back to this schoolgirl defense. My son was with those Kerr bolts, coached by Bruce Murray, and while Bruce was a really nice guy, he was pretty average as a coach. And so with the rest of them. All that happened then was that the Bolts were the only game in town, if your kid wanted to be going to the top national tournaments. The Bolts coaches back then were smarter, with better credentials, than the BA crew. But that's got nothing to do with it - the Revs are on the top of the heap now - just contributed two players to U17 residency. Bolts will have to live in the present, as second tier. That's the way its gonna be in all the cities with MLS DAP squads.
