Could mean the player committed after the article was written. Happened to my son, and he showed up in shape and started almost every game his freshman year.

Redshirt status comes later when roster management comes into play i.e., a freshman player is a prospect, but is behind players on the depth chart and the coach thinks maybe you can contribute in your fifth year of eligibility. Unless you are injured, being a redshirt freshman is not a great sign - the coach has written you off for the season, you do all the work with no prospect of playing, and who pays for the extra semester of college at the back end if you stick around that long?

I see some comments about Cape Cod Reunited's program. All I know is that if I lived on the South Shore, I would have both my son and daughter play for them. The cost is about a third of what the Scorpions, Bolts, NEFC and etc.. charge and I hear PA's dad is the real deal.
