Nothing against a direct style that gets results. The point is this will only go so far.
It almost never wins against the better teams and almost always will be short
    lived.

Nobles tied Lawrence 1-1. What does that say about Nobles? Maybe they are not as dominant as their early blowouts against weaker teams indicated? Nobles still has to play 3 ISL games against some of the better teams so can't punch their ticket for the ISL crown yet.

You may notice teams that were alway doing well with the same coach are starting to slip a bit.. AMEN.. I hope its not too late.
The ISL is slowly getting better with their coaching quality, however, there are still many "old school coaches" active.. imagine, as a good recruit, ie club player trained by well trained coaches from a very young age, the disconnect and that dis heartened kid that has to listen to an outdated blow hard explain and expose their lack of ability to coach at a level these kids are used to? I wonder if coaches or ADs are too arrogant to even give that any thought? What do you think a group of good players say to each other faced with this situation? My guess is a group of unmotivated players not having fun maybe even looking for a way out, subconciously?

Ask yourself, Does my coach watch European or SA games? on occasion? at all? I was surprised to find most coaches can tell you how the Pats won and no clue regarding the most important EPL SPL or Seria A game of the past month..?
I think this situation could actually have the opposite effect on a well recruited team or player..I fact I see it in some teams on both the boys and girls ISL teams. One should not downplay the importance of having a coach equal or better than the kids they recruit.

Whats really funny is Jurgen and Pia are both surprisingly not as well respected by the people "in the know", as you would think...like the big guys at Bayern and the DFB .. As for Pia one can just tell by her lineup and the teams style, .. I will say, knowing this, after speaking with him, I was surprised to find Jurgen is actually with it more than Franz and Karl Hienze let on.. Pia is just hopelessly out to lunch, as are many on the womens side(was anyone surprised how badly DiCicco got on with the Breakers??)
wow!!! Is anyone competent emough to coach in your beloved ISL? Apparently not even Pia and DiCicco would not be good enough for you.

Bad conditions favor the weaker team since it evens the playing field by making everything sloppy and hard to control. Results for all the matches from this day shouldn't be taken too seriously. If you're the underdog, pray for lousy weather.

Pretty lofty critique! What are your credentials? Armchair quarterback or ex-UEFA player/coach?

I disagree. I think there are a few coaches that inspire their teams and actually know something about the game. Most are teachers with an idea. They mean well but don't really know how to identify points of attack or make "in game" adjustments. Obviously you will do well with some club talent on your roster, but a few teams are inspired to play up by a coach that a) knows the game b) develops a "team" spirit and c) gives the team the tactical knowledge they need to compete.

So, you know all 13 of the coaches well enough to give a grade on a 1 to 10 scale on these qualities? You cannot possibly know that, unless you are a good soccer player who spent the last two years playing at least 3-4 games for each coach. yeah, that's realistic!

                        I think you are right.

Nobles is all about speed and athleticsm. Rivers has alot of skill but cant matchup physically. Also, Rivers is not the best finishing team around. They create but dont finish.

On a big field, Nobles wins by 3 goals.

Not what I said - the point is that "a few" of them are good enough to get a win with lesser individual talent by outcoaching their opponent.

yeah, that's true everywhere, just as true as there are many coaches who get less results out of a boatload of talent. so what?!? are you going to make a decision about what school your daughter goes to based on the fantastic coaching staff alone?

Thank you - would you decide where to send your daughter based on her potential teammates alone?

No, not at all. I/we would/did decide based on the school, academics, other students, teachers, parent input, feel of the school on visits, stress levels of students, over all match on all of these, athletic commitment, depth of athletic teams, meeting with the coach(es) and recommendations.

Remember your daughter is not going to get into every school she applies to unless she is very lucky or extremely successful academically.

The coach was probably the least important item on our list as the public school coach in our town is such a loser anyone with a fundamental understanding of the game is a huge step up. In reality the coach had a very good reputation and we liked the coach a lot (and still do).

We picked the school knowing the school was a good fit, she loved it, and the soccer was a huge step up from the public school in depth of players (almost all club players as opposed to almost none). Other sports she played were all good as well and we are pleased with the experience.
