Why is it always Gonk's fault and it must be Gonk parents? Is it because they win? I really don't understand. I am an unaffiliated spectator who has read this thread and last years and notice it's always Gonk's fault but why?

The poster who spewed this incredibly bizarre rant is obviously English, from the way he says "North have no positional sense" (they pluralize verbs in situations like that). I'm really happy he wasn't an American. Anyone know who an English Algonquin fan might be who would spew that kind of crap?

The ignorance of the posts on this thread continue to be stupifying. A stark reminder of the failures of our educational system. A casual fan knows the use of the word "positional" and I assure you it is not solely an English phrase.

Not the word positional, the "North have..." part. An American English speaker would universally say "North HAS no...". It's an Englishman.

My apologies; did not read it that way. However, the OP has also displayed a level of ignorance in regards to his "assigned position" statement that strenghten my belief that he is not English. As any educated footy fan knows, "positions" are important only at kick-off and in defensive shape. One of the pleasing aspects of watching North is the fact the players are free to move where they see space on the attack, which causes havoc for traditional high school defenses: an extremely difficult concept for US players to completely grasp as we tend to coach all freedom of movement out of the game.

Algonquin 3, North Middlesex 2. NM led 2-1 w/7 minutes to go and Algonquin scored twice in a minute.
NM possession in first half was excellent. Real soccer.
Add them to the list of teams that play the game the way it's meant.

I was kind of surprised at how often such an unassailable machine as Algonquin resorted to just kicking the ball. Not the kind of play that runs through a state tourney.

Gonk was 100% out played, out shot and out hustled. I'm not affiliated with either school. Was very impressed with N. Middlesex !! KM you were out coached and your team outplayed by PM and his boys tonight !! Gonk should thank the soccer gods. Worcester North the district title is yours to lose after what i saw tonight. If a gonk parent wants to defend this one I'm all ears !

There is a reason the boys were a little off. One of our best players had a runny nose another one had an ear infection, 2 boys stayed up all night watching reruns of Gilligan's Island on Hulu and one defenders shoe was untied. Oh yeah and for some reason the ref did not let all the calls go gonks way.
