Nope. Leominster's just way way worse. JV also destroyed their JV (and likely would beat the V team), which happened last year too. They've just got no good players right now. This is also the Gonk's last year of dominance, I'd imagine, unless the whole of Cmass turns to crap next year.

Agreed. Algonquin is it in Mid-Wach A. Gotta pat myself on the back for my prior posts in here predicting Algonquin, North and Groton-Dunstable as the cream of the crop in CMass this year.

ESPN rise has gonk listed as 29th in the nation and everyone seems to be hating on them. Interesting. Jealousy perhaps? Could the Gonk go all the way and return the state championship to the limelight of Northborough Massachusets?

#29 based on what, exactly? They've got one win posted accounting for their inclusion, and are the only team from Mass., it looks like. And they haven't been to States for a long long time. So who paid for this team to be included? Seriously, anyone know what the protocol is to get your team on this list?

Checking ESPN Rise, rankings appear to be based on wins over quality opponents, aka strength of schedule (which ones has Gonk beaten? So far this season they've played two vastly inferior teams in a very weak league), and quality players (Gonk has 2 new DAP players and some other club kids). Also, stats are apparently supplied by the schools, and if you don't bother, you don't get ranked. If this is truly the case, does this mean that the Gonk sent in some sort of information to get itself ranked? If so, I hope the coach isn't boasting about this, because winning CMass isn't exactly hard these days.
