Andover beat Rivers but lost to Middlesex and Brooks is looking strong after two solid wins (Cushing 6-1 and Exeter 5-1). Brooks and Nobles are the teams to beat this year.

Brooks beat BBN - good back and forth game won by Brooks on a penalty.

Nobles over St. Paul's (Saturday) 6? to 0 but could have been much worse...Nobles got up early and played backups much of the game. I heard Nobles players were instructed not to score in the 2nd half unless very specific criteria were met. Very lop-sided game.

          Any other action to report?

Dana Hall rebuilding varsity team after Varsity coach departure end of last year. Decision was made not to add freshmen players to team. They now dominate the JV team and are undefeated vs. Varsity team which is struggling. Real debate on how teams were picked. Split opinions on whether freshmen should be allowed to play on Varsity or if spots should be given to older players.

Rivers plays Nobles Wednesday. Any pregame thoughts?

Who Cares? Can't you see that today is about the U13 girls? And, about bashing the u13 Explosion team? Go find another forum to post this useless ISL nonsense on!

Yea, neither could beat any team in the Globe top 10 or the Stars U13 team.

Who knows how they would stack up with the Globe Top 10 but I think the teams play pretty good soccer. Between the two teams -- excellent coaches, at least 8 kids on the Stars or Scorpions, another 8 kids on MPS, several other kids on other club teams, and at least 2 kids set to play Div 1 soccer next year.

Both teams would easily beat any team in the Globe top 10 and certainly the Stars U13 team.

According to TS, the top 5 teams now competing in Massachusetts would be:

                        1. Stars U13
                        2. Needham
                        3. Nobles
                        4. Rivers
                        5. Explosion U13

I agree, seeing some of the teams mentioned in the top 10 really shows how bad the level HS soccer really is. I have seen 4 of those teams this year and its nothing more than kick and chase town soccer.
